Billeragh House Hostel

Stayed one night in the lovely old (1750) manor house Billeragh House Hostel. Just far enough out of town to be quiet - close enough to drive in. Had good dinner at the Horseshoe Pub. Liam is charming - the work done on the house truly amazing. The kitchen is large and the dining room airy with large windows. Well priced...

Great place to stay. The owner was very very nice. Very kind hospitality. Place very quiet and very nice garden outside. Listowel is a very nice town with a beautiful park. The next time I go to Ireland I want to go back to Listowel and spend some time visiting the surroundings.
Per gli italiani che amano il golf, a Listowel c'è un campo da golf pubblico. Qualcosa che loro si possono permettere vista la disponibilità di tappeti verdi.

A great few days spent at this lovely old house, three km from Listowel. It was a great bawe for the local beaches at Ballybunion and the attractive local town. Very friendly and helpful proprietors, Tom and Liam. I would high recommend this self catering hostel!

The owner is so nice, he gives his trust very easily. In the evening, we can sit across the fire place, talk with the owner. The house is beautiful, traditional. The garden is cool.
I have to white more about what I think of this hostel because it is 200 letters minimum. But I said all I had to say.
To advise.

This is a really special hostel. Situated 2km from Listowel Town, the hostel is nicely tucked off the main road on acres of land.
The rooms are clean and spacious and the kitchen is large and well laid out.
Owners meet you on arrival and are friendly and helpful, a nice log fire burning in the hearth each night is a welcoming sight at night.

Fanatstic Georgian mansion steeped in history. Impressed by the challenge involved in it's preservation by an extremely obliging owner/manager. Well appointed kitchen/dining area. Only potential disadvantage is the distance of about 2 miles (3.5km) from the town of Listowel, so if you have no car you will have to maybe walk in and get a taxi out. One of the most memorable places I've stayed and I thoroughtly recomend it as touring point for North Kerry or stopping point between South Kerry/West Cork and Galway/Clare or Shannon airport. Listowel itself is worth a detour, havin a celebrated restaurant/pub scene and in the festival weeks, this would present a tranquil spot from the hustle and bustle.
