This place has been around for years and on a nice sunny day- nowhere better. No opposition so service a little bit casual. Sandwiches we had were grand but came toasted though we requested plain. However the value was superb. 13 euro for two sandwiches an Americano and pot of tea. This place is good but could be so much better and then could be even more profitable!

Spillanes never fails to deliver , it's consistency over the years has been second to none and in a busy spot with hungry families I've noticed the staff Ben & Kieran to mention a few are always on the ball. Marcella was the lady in the bar on this particular day last week ,she manages to organise serve chat joke and maintain status quo in what is sometimes a rather hectic environment,Ireland used to be renowned for its friendliness but unfortunately it has lost pride of place in the past years ,,,except in places like Spillanes where you are always made welcome and staff are genuinely interested in giving their best .
This was my third trip of the season and I hope to fit in a few more before end of summer ..looking forward to it ..
Cheers

Food excellent but some of bar staff need training in service .Not very attentive to customers and can be left waiting a long time for service even when place is not busy . She seem to enjoy ignoring you . Nasty.

Always have a meal here when over. Recommend booking as it gets busy. The reason it gets busy is great food and great Guinness with a great view.

Generally have fish from the specials board and this week was no exception. A fantastic bowl of steamed, local, mussels in a cream sauce, followed by baked hake. Yum yum. Two of the party had cod which was described as beautiful and three had steak, of which there were three types on offer.

Stopped at Spillanes Bar yesterday. Great atmosphere inside and outside the pub. I had the battered cod and chips. Really tasty. The pint is very good too. Make sure to stop!
