“if carlsberg did watersports schools and shops....”
Reviewed 17 August 2012

Been travelling up and down to Castlegregory for years trying to learn how to windsurf and if it wasn't for Jamie and co I might have given up years ago!

They have a super location with various beaches to suit all conditions and sports. It's also extremely beautiful around the Maharees with good food and beverages never far away. The have an excellent range of gear from beginners to the hard core wave sailors.

Jamie has all this teaching 'toys' or should I say tools. As long as you don't mind having a verbose, enthusiastic and always entertaining English man in your head the training helmets are a revelation. I've had a few instructors over the years but none of them have been as good at explaining the theories and practicalities of windsurfing as Jamie and he looks for this quality in his staff too. It's a great spot for families looking for a good day out, friends on a mad weekend away or someone looking to break into the sport.

And then there is the most helpful man in the Maharees in the shop, Jeremy, he'll sort you out for a wetsuit or help you choose a fab new board and always with a smile on his face.

I have been dragging friends, and hopefully soon family, there for years and everyone comes away having had a great time.

“Excellent for beginners”
Reviewed 28 July 2012

Jamie and his crew are very knowledgable, patient and professional in their instruction, especially to beginners young and old. Excellent kit and value for money. 5 days in the club ( 1.5 hrs a day) with extra practice time in the water after the sessions for only €90. Will definitely return!

“Great way to work up a thirst”
Reviewed 26 June 2012

Just drive up to the gap in the dunes - and get your wetsuit and board and proceed to make a fool of yourself trying to get up on it. But boy do you feel exhilarated after it.

“Super tuition”
Reviewed 9 September 2011

Excellent teaching. Dedicated and focused. Perfect to improve intermediate and advanced level. Also excellent for beginners: Jamie's techniques help beginners to progress more rapidly to higher levels. Fantastic setting, beaches, dunes, great pubs. Chances or surfing, horse riding.... Located in a splendid part of Ireland. Very friendly staff, both in shop and on the water.
