“Lovely little forest with nice tracks”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2013

Lovely place for walk - nicely decked walkway with lots of flora and fauna to enjoy. Took our 6 month old round in a rucksack -he loved it. The trail we took was not suitable for wheelchair/pushchair though.

“Beautiful scenery, rain or shine”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2013

The lakes at the top of the hill are so beautiful here and the board walk around the upper lake makes it easy for walkers to enjoy the whole perimeter. I'm not sure this lovely place is well advertised. We found it by mistake, but will definitely go there again. Well worth a walk or drive to this beautifully scenic location.

“Hidden gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2013

This forest is really magnificent with lakes, well sign-posted hiking routes (of all levels from easy to difficult), some nice shade in summer, etc. It is just off the N86 at the village of Aughacasla.

The best thing is: it is not overcrowded with tourists and you can enjoy nature at its best!

“Magical place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2013

Went there on a windy, grey and misty day and even then it was stunning. Great variety of treks whether strenuous or light. We had a four year old along and there were plenty of short routes suitable for children. Take the walk to the lakes if you can.
