From the moment we walked in the door, Sheila and Sam were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They served us tea and coffee and we enjoyed a great conversation. The room was immaculate and very cozy. It was quiet and private, as well! Sheila and Sam were more than willing to help out with giving us information and advice about restaurant and entertainment options. The price was extremely fair and we will definitely be staying there when we visit Ireland again!

On the way to visit the Beara Peninsula during our last trip to Ireland, me and my husband decided to have a one night stop in Kenmare. There are many B&B in this town; by comparing the reviews we eventually booked one room at the Fogerfield B&B, which is between the highest rated ones.
Once there, you soon understand why. The B&B stands a little far from the town centre (almost 3km), in a very quiet location. The house, managed by the kind couple Sheila and Sam, welcomes with its outside spotlessness and this positive impression continues once inside; our room, in particular, impressed by the hugeness (probably the larger one we've never seen during our Ireland trips) as well as for the cleaniness, the fragrance and the simple but stylish
furniture. Plenty of space in the bathroom too, with a very effective shower and an unusual touch of care: two pairs of disponsable shower slippers, to be used at guests convenience.
The standard room coffe & tea facility was completed by a pair of water bottles.
In the morning we had the full Irish breakfast and was outstanding; I also got the chance to taste the other continental breakfast options, which was indeed of the same high quality.
There's just one minor fault to mention and it's about to the difficulty we get to reach the B&B. That was a very long and intense day for us (which included the trip to Skellig Michael) and once in Kenmare, very tired, we sadly found out that the address(es) put in the gps didn't allow to reach Forgefield. It took a pair of calls to Sheila and Sam to sort out. That was a little
bit stressful. We just do feedback to put on the main road the sign that B&B guests usually expect to find. Anyway this does not affect our experience at all, so we rate this B&B as flawless and therefore very highly recommended!

My husband and I stayed here at this wonderful B&B. Sheila and Sam were such gracious hosts. They are the type of people you would welcome into your own home! We wanted to do some hiking in the National Park and Sheila provided us with maps of the various trail options. The bedrooms were very large and clean. Our room had some great views overlooking green fields. The breakfast served was delicious. Keep a lookout towards the fields as you might be lucky enough to see the red fox!

Had a lovely visit at Forgefield House with Sheila and Sam. They do a fabulous breakfast and give great advice on things to see and travel routes. The rooms were spotless and we enjoyed sitting on the deck in the sunshine. We had a bit of a challenge finding it as the streets are not always marked in Ireland. We look forward to visiting again!

I've stayed in B&B all over the world and this one has got to be the best. Sheila and Sam are so gracious and easy going . The rooms are HUGH as well as the Bathrooms. We also had a King size bed. Beautiful and pristine with a back deck to enjoy the end of the day with a lovely view. Very close to town, just a few minutes drive. We also took a walk down their street over a quaint stone bridge and up the hill for a nice view. Big fresh breakfast with much to chose from. Can't say enough about Forgefield House and our hosts. When I think about Ireland I think about how gracious the locals are. Thanks Sheila & Sam AAA++++

Room Tip: We stayed in the downstairs room, but I got a tour of the house and all the rooms are beautiful.

My Grandfather and I recently had a wonderful stay at this lovely property on our Irish Holiday. Sam and Sheila were exceptional hosts and made us very welcome in their home. Our room was very clean and spacious, and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was exceptional and my grandfather and I both agreed was the nicest of all the properties we visited during our trip.

We ate a wonderful Irish breakfast (many other options available) in the sunroom over looking a beautiful countryside view, while Sam and Sheila were kind enough to answer the numerous questions my grandfather had for them regarding the property and the area. They even shared travel advice with me for another trip I plan to take with my wife later in the year, including sending detailed information/recommendations in an email. The service was truly great.

Combine all these factors with a very affordable stay and you have an you have an incredible value. If you stay in Kenmare, make it with Sam and Sheila.
