Owner description: Molly Gallivan’s cottage and traditional farm invites you to take a step back in time to experience the simple country lifestyle in rural Ireland before the days of electricity and modern conveniences. Molly’s enchanting cottage is over 200 years old and her farm is complete with animals, fowl and traditional farm machinery. Molly’s old Tea Shop is very unique in Ireland, here you will taste locally made foods cooked and baked in the traditional fashion. We also hold traditional Irish evenings at Molly Gallivan’s cottage, these are nights of Irish food, music, song, dance and story telling, re-enacting the old customs that took place in Irish homes. Advanced booking is required for our Traditional Irish Evenings please contact us for availability and prices.

“Lovely place on the road”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

My wife Kelli was head over heels for this place. Molly Gallivan's is steeped in Irish charm and instantly draws you in with its magnificent aromas of home cooked food, wide variety of traditional spun-wool sweaters and accessories, as well as traditional Irish crafts. We were drawn in after being beckoned to stop and stretch our legs by the intriguing Druid sculpture in the parking lot and were happy we did. The family that runs the place makes you feel very welcome. Highly recommend a stop in for a true taste of the historical charm of Ireland.

“Pleasant stop”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

We stopped by chance, but were glad we did. The place was pleasantly light by candles and smelled good from the fresh baked scones. We found several nice gifts from their shop. They offered complimentary coffee. They were very warm people and we enjoyed our stop.

“WOW - What a step back in time . . .”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

Our visit to Molly’s happened on a day that had on and off rains spells. But we are so pleased and happy that we stopped at Molly’s cottage and farm.

The history of Molly, her farm, and her potent homemade whiskey is legendary. She sold homemade baking goods as well as spun woolens. Her most profitable income came from her whiskey.

As a widow she raised seven children in a fairly small dwelling and managed to grow potatoes and barley and other farm produce and sheep.

This tour is very walkable and really allows yourself to transport yourself back a few hundreds of years to just imagine what it would be like for you to have lived then. The Brochure says 5000 years of history on a 500 meter walk.
