“Surprisingly Good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2013

After a long day of driving,we weren't terribly motivated to head into Kenmare town. Driving out to our hotel, Brook Lane, Henry Street was bumper to bumper parked cars, and no handy parking lots were in sight. More often than not, hotel dining is less than optimal, but our dinner here was quite good.

We were disappointed that the main dining room, which is quite attractive, was ceded to a number of tables of bridge players. This isapparently a regular Tuesday night event at the hotel. We were assured that the same menu was being offered in the bar. The bar is, frankly, a more generic place. We were also not particularly excited that an Irish music band would be featured during the latter part of our meal.

The music often attracts a crowd, but at least it was a slightly sedate one. The music, also, was decent and not boisterous.

More importantly, for this review, our appetizers, main courses and desserts were well prepared, and there were six to ten choices in each category. This is competent cooking with a few flairs, but mostly traditional recipes employing the fine local ingredients at hand. Frankly, it is not a destination restaurant, but there was value and quality. On a damp and windy evening, it was a good choice.

The wait staff were extremely welcoming. The wine list had several very savvy choices. There were an assortment of craft beers, if that is your preference. The music turned out to be a pleasant enhancement.

“Amazing food , Amazing people”

My girlfriend and I dined in the Casey’s restaurant Friday night. The food was the best we had in Kenmare. My girlfriend had fish and chips, which looked and smelt amazing, all the food was delicious and we could not find fault with anything. The servers were so friendly and made sure we were being looked after at all times, we will definitely be returning again, Most enjoyable meal of the holiday.

“Depressing”

Food was average. Desperate prices for children with a stupidly small portion. Kids were hungry. Charged for jug of cordial. And the manager, grey hair bold man had the manners of a cranky bear

“A much needed meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 April 2013

After spending a weekend in Kenmare where we expected some great sea food and were constantly disappointed at the lack of service and poor food offered in Kenmare we luckily found Casey on the last night. The food and service is excellent and worth the price.
