This hotel is quite simply one of the best I have ever visited. Service was first class, there was a problem with the hot water in the room and ther was no problem changing our room, it was done and dusted in 10 mins.
Location is simply beautiful, the river at the back of the hotel adds to the remote feel of the hotel even though its only a mile from Kenmare.
I could not find fault with the hotel. We will be back.

Sheen falls lodge is by far the best hotel I have ever been to.Set in the stunning countryside in kenmare and just a short walk or drive from the absoulutely beautiful town of kenmare! The staff are great it is VERY clean the rooms are big and spacious! and a gigantic bathroom with 2 sinks and probarbly the nicest bath I have seen in a long time. They have a lovely restaraunt and there is a long list of activities (clay pigeon shoting, horse riding, tennis, lovely walks and the list goes on!) You walk in to the most beatiful interior and a turf fire and the staff are ever so helpful!! You will never see the views like you will see there I have nothing but praise for this hotel I would highly reccomend it!

I have visited Sheen Falls on many occasion, staying for Christmas, Easter and other times of the year. My last visit my sisters and I stayed in the Lansdowne Suite in the hotel. the visit, as always, was super. The hotel, restaurant, lounge and all facilites are superb. I have booked again for Christmas this year and am really looking forward to this special time with family. If you get a chance and you are in Kenmare you should really try and stay here. Superb.

Stayed 2 nights and it lived up to its 5* billing. From the moment you step out of the car the staff lavish attention on you and are most friendly. While certain aspects of the decor is dull the overall ambience makes up for it.The room was a good size with a comfortable bed and generous sized bathroom.Love the his and hers sinks.Stayed in a room at the front overlooking the bay.The breakfast was 1st class with buffet and a good choice on the kitchen menu, full irish etc.La Cascade dining room is spacious and bright and the food was top class. The bar menu was also very good and a nice area to eat in.There is a games room ,a library with internet access and a couple of rooms to lounge a bit with nice fires burning. The peace and quiet of the area is nice and the grounds are A1.Tennis and croquet are also available free of course.Would definitely recommend hotel.

Just back from a weekend break in Sheen Falls Lodge and I have to say it was beautiful. The hotel is about 2 miles from town and is a nice walk. There are beautiful grounds and wooded walks for easy strolling. Our room was on the second floor, was very big and spacious and overlooked the woodland and bay. The hotel is older in style and the pool is smaller than I expected but overall it perfectly adequate. The Jacuzzi / hot tub is lovely... The decor in the hotel is traditional with rugs, antiques and paintings. The hotel is spotless and the gardens are fantastic.

The breakfast was very tasty (Full Irish, Pancakes with fruit, French toast, selection of fruit, breads, cheeses, meats etc). The service in the hotel is excellent. The staff are genuinely friendly.

I recommend availing of a complimentary morning newspaper and nestling into a big couch in front of an open log fire and ordering a pot of coffee and some homemade shortbread.

One small thing, I agree with other posters about the tea and coffee in the bedrooms... and there are no lockers in the changing rooms.

The hotel is not a modern 5 star, (maybe not even a 5 star at all) but it is plush with quality furnishings and very comfortable.... It is the ideal place for a quality, relaxing weekend!!

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room with a view.... it is so worth it!
