My husband & I & our 2 children stayed for a week in this lovely house. Mary was very welcoming & friendly. We were really impressed with the spacious house & it's cleanliness. Being based right in the town was brilliant as it was handy for essentials & the choice of restaurants, cafes, & lovely shops to browse round really added to our holiday. We were fortunate enough to have fantastic weather & finding Derrynane beach (inc lifeguard) was brilliant. The Kerry scenery is stunning & the locals are friendly. The owners Mary & Noel were always on hand but very discreet. It was nice to know they were there. Mary even got up early to give us breakfast in the B&B on our last morning before our long journey home. We could go on but will finish by saying that we were all sad to leave but look forward to returning one day. We would definitely recommend Hawthorne Lodge.

Great house in great location!!! Very welcoming people and felt well looked after. House was comfortable, equipped with all necessities, towels, bed linen, soaps, tea/coffee, milk and heat was on so it was lovely and warm on our arrival!
The location is right at the end of the main street in kenmare and there is parking too (although a little tight sometimes). The village of kenmare is full of beautiful shops and restaurants and it is ideal for exploring the county. For good food there are loads of places, Coachmans and Foleys to name a few!!
The post office was right beside us and they have internet and although internet is hard to get in general around kenmare the staff in the post office are helpful and friendly.
Will hopefully be back some day.

Hawthorn Lodge has it all. Mary and family had a warm welcome for us on arrival. The town house has a lovely layout and is in an excellent location. Our bedrooms(en suite) were lovely. Everything from queen sized beds to the soft luxurious towels made our stay feel like home for the Easter weekend. The welcome pack included fresh eggs, jams and brown bread. It was quite nostalgic for us to be staying in shelbourne st....the reason being we had lived next door , and played many times as children in "Hawthorns "garden. We look forward to returning again.

“Great location for a week in Kenmare”

The Hawthorne Lodges are bright, spacious 2 bedroom, 21/2 townhouse style apts. just at the end of the main streets of Kenmare. Location is excellent for walking through town and for excursions into the Ring of Kerry and Beara Penninsula. They include parking and are adjacent to the facilities of the Hawthorne B&B. We found it to be an excellent location for a week's stay.
