“3 star hotel”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

This is a 3 star hotel that doesn't pretend to be anything else -- it is pleasant, clean - great position - a few minute walk from the centre of town --- staff are friendly and helpful --- case in point -- a few coach loads of people had breakfast early -- when we arrived down at 8am a lot of fresh fruit and pastries were finished --- a very nice young man placed some of each on our table without even being asked --- nice touch ---- leisure centre spotless and lovely --- all in all a good experience --- expensive for a 3 star --- but then again it was July in Kenmare so fair enough!

Room Tip: try and avoid a room over the carpark area -- a family with extraordinarily noisy children were maki...

Stayed here for a week as part of a walking group. The location is excellent being only a few minutes walk from the interesting little town of Kenmare and also a good centre for walks round the area.
The bedroom was comfortable and the bathroom had the advantage of a bath as well as shower; always welcome after a strenuous day.
The food was excellent. The breakfast is the best I have had in any hotel with a selection of juices, cereals, porridge, fresh fruit, cheese, croissants, Irish soda bread and of course all the ingredients of the full Irish breakfast! The dinners were also of top quality, my only reservation being that some of the desserts were a little heavy...but it was however always possible to ask for fresh fruit as an alternative..
The staff were the epitome of Irish charm; it was a pleasure to talk to them and they appeared to find it a pleasure to look after us.
All in all a delightful place to stay and I can happily recommend it

Stayed here for one night to go out in the town and then use as a base for the Beara Peninsula. The hotel is nice and big and the staff were very helpful especially with getting to where we wanted to go in Beara. The rooms are average, nothing special, but couldn't fault them either except could have used an electrical outlet as the only free ones were right behind the bed. The facilities seemed very nice but I didn't get the chance to use them. Breakfast was very nice. Location is great, just a couple minute walk to the middle of town through their own back walkway which was nice. Seemed like a very busy hotel with coach tours and weddings which is a good sign. Plenty of activities to do from the hotel and I would def. recommend for those staying in Kenmare.

We recently stayed here for a couple of days with our 2 children. The hotel is in a great location within a short walk of Kenmare town centre. The reason we chose the hotel was because of it's swimming pool which can get a little busy, but the kids enjoyed it. The room with a double bed, single bed and pulled out sofa bed was a little on the tight side, room otherwise was fine. Bathroom was very good and I am always happy to see a separate shower and there was a good supply of towels. The room door didn't really provide a great sound barrier and you could frequently hear people in the hallway, especially other doors opening and closing. The breakfast wasn't great, only 2 types of juice and neither the best of quality. The buffet choices were a little limited. But otherwise a perfectly serviceable hotel and staff in general were friendly and efficient.

Dear Guest

Thank you for your recent review,
I was pleased to read you enjoyed your stay overall, our apologies you found the noise from the corridors loud and our breakfast choice limited
The doors do comply with Failte Ireland requirements, In regarding our breakfast we will certainly look at increasing the selection of our juices
Should you be staying in Kenmare again please don't hesitate in contacting me directly so i can ensure you have a quieter room and we can show you are breakfast changes
Yours Sincerely

We stayed here recently with our 2 children. The family facilities are great especially the kid play corner in restaurant which meant we could enjoy our meals while the kids were kept busy. Our room was a bit of a walk from reception but was quiet and spacious. One staff member in particular stood out, Shauna. She was so attentive and bubbly although it was quite busy and she adored our 2 who now want to go on holiday to see the "nice lady" again. It makes such a difference to go to a family friendly hotel when the staff reflect it. Looking forward to coming back soon.

My husband and I stayed at the Kenmare Bay Hotel for a week during a recent visit. This was our first time in Ireland. I'm writing this review because of the wonderful service we received from the front desk during our stay. Specifically on our first evening, we were exhausted and hungry after a long day of travel. We were checked in by an very friendly receptionist named Chantelle. She warmly answered our long list of questions, provided restaurant recommendations, directions, and suggested a location for traditional Irish music and dancing put on by the local dance troupe that evening - which was a delightful experience we hadn't planned on! The hotel was also very clean. We stayed in one of the lodges which was super convenient for doing laundry during the middle of the week. I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: As mentioned above, the lodges are great - offering a washer & dryer, and kitchen. Bedrooms are...

This hotel is extremely nice, and reception was very friendly and helpful. The hotel's restaurant was absolutely delicious with very friendly staff. The room was very big and super comfortable, with everything I needed in it. My room also had a beautiful view. Hotel is just a short walk from the town centre of Kenmare. Overall, I was very impressed with this hotel and would definitely recommend it.
