We stayed at Muxnaw Lodge for two nights. Hannah was very welcoming and made us feel at
home straight away. The room was a delight with beautiful views of the Bay. Breakfast was
excellent plenty of choices. Hannah's knowledge of the area and where to dine out was
second to none. Would certainly stay again. Home away from Home.

Room Tip: If you can get a room looking out on to the Bay, the views are beautiful.

My husband and I stopped here on a whim after driving the Ring of Kerry because of the proximity to restaurants and the great view. Fortunately, they had a room available and I am so glad they did. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, water pressure in the shower was strong and there was plenty of hot water. Although there were several other guests, we heard no one and slept incredibly well. In the morning we were treated to a incredible breakfast - homemade scones, brown bread, jams, coffee from a french press and a choice of breakfast entrees. I chose the scrambled eggs with salmon and was amazed at how delicious and fluffy the eggs were. We received recommendations for a nice drive that we thought was even more beautiful than the Ring of Kerry. We like it so much we stayed another night and would have stayed longer had we been able to extend our vacation. We plan to return along with members of our extended family for a longer stay.

Room Tip: Request a front room with a view of the water

For three nights me and my father (81 years old) were guests at Muxnaw Lodge.
At the moment the door openend we felt at home! We were welcomed with thea and scones in the main living room. Hannah and her daughter were always available to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Our room was large and beautiful. The breakfast table with silver couvert in the beautiful blue room and open fire, gave us a "Jane Austin" feeling. We were sorry to leave this lovely house with her friendly owners.

The Muxnaw Lodge is a B and B for the discerning traveller. The setting is stunning with great views of the river and mountains. It is convenient for walking into the town. The property has great character and the rooms are larger than normal for a B and B. The bathrooms are huge and appear to have recently been refurbished. The breakfasts are excellent - one can even have smoked salmon- how good is that? The host Mrs Boland is a lovely lady who is very helpful and friendly. Have no worries about booking this one.

Room Tip: Front rooms have the best views

My wife and I stayed in the master bedroom of the Muxnaw lodge for 2 nights. We had a wonderful experience! We were served tea each afternoon with freshly made scones. The breakfast was a traditional Irish breakfast with fresh scones, jam, local butter, orange juice, coffee, tea, porridge, and a host of main course options. I would suggest the eggs and smoked salmon. The Muxnaw lodge is a must stay when in Kenmare!

Went to Kenmare in July 2013. This B&B was perfect: big rooms, fantastic breakfast( tea, coffee, salmon, eggs, fresh scones, oatmeal, OJ, toast...), great location to town as we walked in each day and beautiful setting. Hospitality was excellent and made us feel at home in Ireland. Can not go wrong with choosing Muxnaw Lodge!
