Coming from the foodie haven of Bray, Berkshire, we have two Michelin star restaurants and three other excellent restaurants all of 5 star quality. Well, all I can say is that the quality of the cod, smoked cod and chips with crushed peas with mint we ate at the Ocean blue restaurant was on the same par. The proprietor, Jim Birmingham welcomed us with a very warm welcome explaining that his batter is a tempura batter (very light so that the taste brings out the texture and flavour of the fish even more so), and he couldnt be more precise. Our meal was accompanied with crushed petite pois & mint and a homemade tartar sauce and capers.
The fish he receives is delivered daily from Castletownbere which explains that melt in the mouth experience.
