despite having been quite helpful on emailing, this place was not up to snuff. unfortunately, the owner was away and her husband was left essentially alone to manage the B and B. he is very nice but the room was poorly prepared, no soap or shampoo, not overly clean and damp. the breakfast was poor. so don't pay attention to the fancy website. there must be other places to go. the public bathroom was filled with bedding material. it was all quite awkward.

Nice distance from kenmare. Clean rooms, excellent hosts and a great breakfast. However the price was the highest we've had to pay so far.

Quiet location in which we had a nice and spacious room. The owner is funny and easily connected with us by making jokes about this and that. He was helpful in making recommendations for dinner and most importantly, also mentioned restaurants he wouldn´t go himself. The breakfast is OK and offers a wide selection of cereals plus the classical full Irish Breakfast.

My husband, daughter and I stayed 3 nights at Willow Lodge and would definitely stay again. Gretta was so hospitable and made a great breakfast with the best brown bread in all of Ireland in our opinion. The room was clean, spacious and nicely decorated with a nice big bathroom attached. Kenmare is a great location if you want to tour the Ring of Kerry, Beara Peninsula, Dingle, Killarney National Park. Downtown Kenmare is only a 5 min. walk with nice restaurants and pubs. Gretta is full of wonderful advice on the area and great stories. We were sorry we didn't get to meet her husband Paul, but we will meet him on our next visit as we will be staying there for sure. This was our favorite place on our trip.

We spent a wonderful evening with Paul and Gretta (Paul has a fantastic sense of humor, and Gretta is warm and genuine). The room and hospitality are tops, and Kenmare is more laid-back (which is what we like). Great for either the Ring of Beara or Ring of Kerry tours.

Room Tip: Write to Gretta (she's great with email!)

We had a wonderful stay at Willow Lodge. Greta and Paul had us laughing the minute we walked in the door and fed us like we were Queens. They were so helpful with directions (gave us an alternative to the treacherous we came in on) and kept us quite comfortable. We think Pam makes the best brown bread in the entire country!

Whilst we can't complain about the size or cleanliness of the room provided I feel that 100 Euro is about 20 Euro too much after having since compared over 20 other B & B rooms throughout Ireland. I know that if I didn't want it I didn't have to take it but we were desperate having arrived late and keen to rest. Walking distance to main street is main attraction otherwise just average.
