Yes, this is out of the center of town, but the town is small and the hotel is literally a 4 min. walk (if that). There is a walking path just across the street into town that is really short (the locals use it to go home as well). The room was large and clean to our standards (we had a deluxe room facing the street). Great amenities and the public areas in the hotel are very comfortable -no narrow, uninteresting corridors. As for the attached restaurant, we found it a good value and tasty (with live music). Morning breakfast is also very delicious ordering a selection from the menu and from the buffet table. Also, there is no in room coffee, but there is complimentary coffee/tea service - much better (and tastier)! By the way, we found Kenmare's good non-pub food options to be rather expensive. Okay now for the bullet points:
Pros:
- Good location for car access to Ring of Kerry
- Good food/coffee (did I mention we liked the coffee?)
- Good value for the location. Really short walk to busy small town.
- Large room
- Good value for attached restaurant (even though its called a pub)
Cons:
- The road can be noisy if you're not used to it (or if you keep the window open at night)
- You will have to walk into town
- Not the best views out of the...Yes, this is out of the center of town, but the town is small and the hotel is literally a 4 min. walk (if that).
