Nice place nothing to complain about. A little old could use an upgrade with wifi and other amenities, but it is the country so as to be expected. Staff was nice, room was nice food was good. Hard to find a little look for the road with the same name abd just keep going down the hill you can't miss it.

As others have mentioned, this is a great value for the money. It was the least expensive B&B we stayed at while we were in Ireland and was one of my favorites.

Pros: The whole setting was quiet and charming. There is parking on the premises. The grounds are beautiful. The shower in this place was the best we had during our trip. It is a great location for exploring both the Ring of Kerry area and the Beara Peninsula. It is a short drive to town (less than 5 minutes) and there is a large parking lot right outside of the town center to park. Carmel was very warm and helpful in giving us tips on where to go exploring for hiking.

Cons: Being in the country, there were a few unwanted critters in our room (including two decent sized spiders). This was not really a problem for us (and the spiders stayed in their corners). The bed is listed as a double bed, but it is a bit short and was a bit uncomfortable for my husband (he's 6'0"). WiFi was very spotty (but this was everywhere we stayed in Ireland).

I think for the price and how wonderful it is for a three-star B&B, it definitely deserves a five star rating. Mason, the Old English Sheepdog, was also an excellent host!

What a great Irish B&B! Friends said the pictures we sent looked like something from a post card. Both the room and the breakfast were great. Would love to stay there again. It was about 5 minutes out of Kenmare, so it was nice and quiet.

We stayed here for two nights in May while we traveled the Ring of Kerry. Camel was very helpful in suggesting a route to avoid many of the buses. Breakfast was delicious and hearty. The bed was comfortable, the room was homey and clean. It was hard to say goodbye to this charming little place.

Lissyclearig Thatched Cottage is like something out of a fairytale. It is charming with quirky little artistic touches every where you look...so picturesque. When we stayed there were gorgeous flowers on the windows. The interior is lovely as well. Carmel is a warm and inviting hostess and very helpful. It's a little out in the country so it's not really walking friendly if you want a night out at the pubs.

Unfortunately for us, my husband is a big and tall kind of guy. The bed did not like us both on it and would make a racket anytime we would shift, even slightly. That made it difficult for us to get a good night's sleep. We also noticed little bits of food left on some of our dishes that we had to brush off. Might have been a fluke, but we noticed them each day we were there, so we were a little put off by it.

That being said, Lissyclearig is great value for the money. It was one of the most affordable B&Bs we stayed at.

We stayed here one night while visiting the Ring of Kerry. We are so glad we found this place. Just a few miles from the center of town, it is a lovely country house with a thatched roof and beautiful stone work in part of the building. The interior is rustic and warm. A lot of the furniture is homemade and the yard has flower beds and there are window boxes of geraniums on the windowsills. The double room we had wasn't very big, but it had a nice bathroom and enough storage for all our stuff. Carmel is a welcoming host and she made us a nice breakfast. It was very reasonably priced, a great value for the money.

My husband and I stopped here while visiting the Ring of Kerry in Ireland. We loved this B and B. Carmel is a warm and exceptional hostess. She makes you feel as though she picked up the phone and personally invited you to stay at her home. The scenery around the house is gorgeous and the home is quaint and picturesque. This place was the cheapest stay on our visit to Ireland and definitely the best. Kenmare is a great little town and we found it to be less touristy than Killarney.
