“Location excellent, friendly and helpful staff, food disappointing, quite pricey.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014 via mobile

Recently back from three glorious days in this beautiful part of Ireland. Stayed for first time in the Dingle Skelig, with it's excellent location. Having only booked the previous day, we were delighted when so welcoming receptionist found us a room with sea view. Room itself good though no fridge and no bar of soap in bathroom( one of my little idiosyncrasies).
As weather was so good, nice indoor pool was of no interest. General ambience was relaxed, if a little tired. Staff were very friendly and helpful and service was good.
On night of arrival, we dined in the bar/restaurant. Food was poor and quite expensive. Only slight improvement the following night in the main restaurant. While choice for breakfast was enormous, there was a certain blandness about everything we ate.
Overall, good experience but too pricey.

Dear PaddyWhacked36
Thank you for posting your review of your recent stay at the Dingle Skellig Hotel. I was delighted to read your kind comments regarding our staff which I have passed directly to them. However I was surprised and disappointed to note your comments about our food. The hotel has just recently been awarded an AA Rosette for Culinary Excellence and we have received many positive reviews for our food. I hope to have the opportunity t welcome you back to the Dingle Skellig Hotel.

Stayed for 2 nights with my husband and 3 year old daughter. Nice room with double and single bed which suited us perfectly.

Hotel is well located just outside the town. The outside of the hotel lets it down a little I think. Interior is lovely, very clean and comfortable. Staff are really friendly and the whole hotel is very well setup for families. Breakfast is fab and we ate in the bar and resturaunt, both lovely.

The only complaint I have is the €10 supplement which is charged for a child dining in the resturaunt. A bit much I thought.

Overall, highly recommended, especially for families.

stayed here for 3 nights for a family birthday. A very pleasant stay with a few minor issues. Our package included 2 dinners in the hotel, on the first night the dinner was of a very poor standard & service was very slow, however they did redeem themselves on night 2! Breakfast was excellent as was the facilities for the kids, who enjoyed every minute of their stay. The room we had was basic & small & I have stayed in nicer in 3 * establishments, all can be forgiven though as this hotel has one of the best locations in Ireland, looking over the beautiful Dingle Peninsula & when the sun is shining you cannot put a price on that!

Brought all our family to this wonderful hotel to celebrate my wife's significant birthday Lovely room on the third floor with view of the Bay,very comfortable and enormous bed. Perhaps the best breakfast, quality and choice we have ever encountered.
Great leisure centre and pool for all ages, kept the grand kids happy.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating ,only exception being one girl on reception when one of our party checked in,I suppose anyone can have a bad day!
The only real disappointment we had was our first family meal, there was nothing to recommend it,there was a Wedding on at the Hotel and think the kitchen was over stretched . Saying this they redeemed theirselves on the celebratory dinner the following night .thanks to Craig and JohnJo.

Room Tip: Lovely rooms and view from third floor

We recently had our family holiday in the Dingle Skelligs Hotel and yet again it was a fantastic break from start to finish. From the moment we checked in we were greeted by friendly and courteous staff and no question or query was left unanswered. The food in the Bistro, Bar and restaurant was of the highest quality and as always the kids meals and club were excellent. The room we had was facing the mouth of the harbour and combined with the stunning weather it was the perfect view to wake up to each morning. The room itself was excellent and very well tended each day. We can't thank Graham and ALL his staff enough for giving us another memorable holiday. With the views and activities that are readily available ther is definetly no better place to holiday.

Room Tip: You won't get a nicer view than looking out at the mouth of the harbour

Just back from a break in the Skelligs and , as usual, the high point for us as a retired couple are the lovely friendly staff which really makes the short holiday so enjoyable. Everyone of them had a smile and enquired if they could be of any help. Good to see Fungi is alive and jumping and a walk along the edge of the fields towards Husseys Folly and beyond is most relaxing.

Room Tip: overlooking sea

Lovely four star hotel in a beautiful quiet, scenic area.Located within walking distance of Dingle but you could also walk along the shoreline to town.Hotel staff professional but appeared a little tense and sharp on welcoming people even though they were very helpful and accomodating.Rooms were nice and very well serviced. Breakfast was good with good variety of food and very pleasant staff. Lovely views from hotel and of course the scenery was amazing.

Room Tip: I think all are ground floor anyway but I think those with a view of the bay must be beautiful.room...
