“Excellent hotel, brilliant staff and a beautiful location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2014

I stayed in this hotel for 3 days in July. We were a group of 4 adults & 4 children. One of our party had medical & dietary issues so we had done a bit of research before deciding on the Skellig in order to make the break as relaxing as possible.

This hotel is superb. It has everything you need. They have a brilliant kids club with games room. The leisure centre is also great and the bars & restaurants are super. We had quite complicated dietary issues and the staff coped with it brilliantly and couldn't do enough for us. It is worth going to this hotel for the breakfast alone. It is possibly the best in Ireland for choice.

The staff are all fabulous. Every single staff member are so cheerful, friendly & helpful. We even got a lift into town one rainy night and when my 7 year old left his teddy bear behind when we left, it was quickly parcelled up and sent promptly back to us ( which was very appreciated).

So thanks for a great stay and looking forward to coming back.

The Skellig Hotel is located right on the waterfront with terrific views of the bay.
The hotel itself can use a lot of updating. The outside looks old and warn out.
The outdoor area has a couple of seating areas but the sets don't match and the chairs
aren't very comfortable. They should get some lounge chairs so people can relate and
enjoy the views.

The room was very old and tired looking. The heat was turned off (temperatures at night were in the 50's) and the TV as a small computer monitor. It's like the hotel management cut corners and skimped on things that could have made the hotel outstanding. Our room overlooked the back of the hotel property which was dissappointing.

The hotel was full of a lot of familes with lots of kids so if you're looking for a quiet hotel to stay at choose another hotel. Kids were always running around playing soccer or yelling.

The hotel had a free breakfast which was fine.

Front desk staff was not overly accommodating. We tried to get a room change with a better view but the person wouldn't budge.

The hotel is not in the center of the town so you'll have to take the car to get to restaurants and shops unless you're up for a long walk. Keep in mind that Dingle parking is very hard to find during the day. Dingle gets very crowded so parking is at a premium.

Even though the view was great I would not stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: If you choose to stay at this hotel (I'd recommend finding another hotel) make sure you book a r...

Just after a 5 night stay at the skellig with my 3 boys. They had a ball between kids club, creche , games room, movie room and pool- never mind we had fabulous weather to get out and about. I am a single parent and keep coming back due to the kids facilities and the fact this hotel offers me some luxury too! The spa is fabulous and the food- well I have stayed in a lot of hotels and the beakfast in the skellig is the best ever- seconded by 3 hungry boys !! Food in the bar is lovely and the restaurant- well gorgeous is all i can say. The staff are excellent - to me this is what sets the Skellig apart. During my stay all the managers made a point to speak to me Graham, Aisling and Greg in particular- though I remember those names from last year!! Waitresses and waiters, bar staff etc are a credit - they all chat and have a word and to me this is what captures the Skellig the best- the friendliness of the people of Dingle

Booked this hotel last minute, arrived early and was given our room straight away. Staff are amazing and very helpful. The rooms are very clean and large.
Great food and service, we plan to stay here again next year.
We also stayed in the group hotel in Galway because of the standard set by this hotel. Which was also as nice. Thank you

A night away from our 3 year old. Splashed out €200 on a room. Very poor room. There are exposed wires in our room! Hotel in serious need of updating. Staff nice. We'll see how breakfast is in the morning. Beautiful view.

Stayed here lat July and had a great holiday. The hotel is situated in a beautiful area of Dingle and the scenery from the hotel is breath taking. The staff in reception was very helpful and really went out of their way to fit us in as we were late booking. We had a nine year old with us and she went to the kids club (this was great for her as she met new friends and the girls there are so pleasant) she loved it and that gave us time to ourselves and we went walking along the cliff top from the hotel, glorious. The center of Dingle town is only five minute walk away with a foot path all the way or you can walk along by the sea. We had lovely big room with a double and a single bed, room very clean. We used the swimming pool every day beautiful. The food was great and reasonable the staff even served us late in the bar one night. All the staff are to be recommended for their personalities and helpfulness. We will be recommending this hotel to friends and family it was a lovely holiday for us as we done some touring in that area as well. Well worth a visit even for the sea food alone.

Room Tip: If possible get a room away from reception as it quiet noisy in the mornings.

As a guest from South Africa at a family wedding, I had the most wonderful experience at your hotel. The staff could not have been more attentive, cheerful & helpful. Food was out of this world, and the setting outstanding. Thank you for a truly memorable time, I hope to return with my husband some time.

Room Tip: The view over the bay is spectacular from the 3rd floor.
