“Pax House - A Wonderful B&B”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

This has been long overdue.
When my wife, Terry Anne, and I were in Ireland on a motor tour that we designed, we were told by a fella in Kilkee, Co. Clare to change our itinerary and be sure to stay in Dingle. So we did. I called the first B&B in Dingle listed in Rick Steve's Tour book. That fella was full so he suggested Pax House. Best suggestion ever. I got lost and didn't go far enough up the hill on John St. So I called John and he and Rio guided me to the premises via my mobile.
It was the nicest B&B of our entire 21 day stay in Eire. Terry Anne had found a shower where she could move about and do those things that American women need to do. She also was able to get a cat "fix" from Molly.
We only stayed one night as we were on our Grand Tour. Breakfast the next morning was also a feast and treat.
If you going to Dingle and want simply the best in accommodation, service food and company, Pax House is for you!

Having just returned to San Diego after spending 3 weeks in England and Ireland, there is no doubt in our minds that the PAX Guesthouse is, by far, the best B & B we have ever stayed at.

There were true feelings of warmth and friendship from the moment we arrived. We were greeted by the owner John, who was an amazing host, and we first walked through the lounge areas to see the incredible view from the outside patio area. It was a beautiful, clear day, and we even got to see the dolphin "Fungie" playing in the distance.

Our room was magical, having a 180 degree full-on view of the beautiful green pastures with Dingle bay in the background. Our bed was like sleeping in a cloud - soooo comfortable!

The food, the staff and the service were second to none, and the personal care was excellent. Patrick got sick with a fever and chest infection, and Margaret personally drove us into towm to the local clinic to see a doctor. What wonderful service!

Thank you all at the PAX Guesthouse for making these magical memories for us!

Christine and Patrick Steward.

The views from the lovely oversized deck are only outdone by the hospitality of John and his staff. The southwest of Ireland is known for friendly folks and spectacular views and Pax Guest House is a culmination of both. This was one of two fabulous places that we stayed during our 8 day tour of the southwest of Ireland. Breakfast was wonderful. John was extremely helpful in planning our day. The man is quite the character and we so enjoyed spending time chatting with him. Everything about this B&B was spot on! KUDOs to John and his staff for running such a fine establishment! We will be back.

Room Tip: we spent very little time in the room, other than sleeping, because the sitting area and beautiful d...

We just spent three and a half weeks in Ireland and the UK. Out of all the lovely places we stayed, this was hands down our favorite. As other people have said, it is truly the combination of a beautiful setting, luxurious comfort, and warm hospitality of John and his staff that make Pax House so special. There is an amazing attention to detail. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by John, we were treated like dear friends coming to stay and be spoiled! Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The lounge areas are comfortable with amazing views. The ambience is so warm and hospitable that all the guests are comfortable chatting with each other. John has plenty of information about what to see and do with great recommendations for where to dine in the evening. HIs breakfasts are amazing!

Pax House is one of those places that you don't want to leave but when you have to you are hoping you get to come back again, even if you have to cross an ocean to do it! It truly deserves all the fabulous reviews.

John and his entire staff could write a book on what it means to give great service. They go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable. And omg, those pancakes!! Staying at the Pax House was a perfect way for us to say good bye to Ireland at the end of our three week visit.

This is the nicest B & B I have ever found. From the moment I rang to book John was so helpful and kind and we had the warmest welcome on arrival. Beautiful spot - fabulous rooms, and best breakfast I can remember. Truly didn't want to leave. All the staff were so good and thoughtful and nothing was too much trouble. Adored the art and the atmosphere too, met lovely people whilst there. Thankyou for a gorgeous stay, its a wonderful gem and will be back for sure next year.

It's hard to find more superlatives to add to what others have already said. Pax House is marvelous. The service, the location, the staff, the food (oh, the food) and the welcoming atmosphere. Everything you have read about the excellence of Pax House is true. And the finishing touches are astonishing: the bird cage tea strainer, the egg cozies, the fresh flowers in the room, the high visibility vests (for when you stagger back from town after another fabulous meal), the heated towel racks, Baileys on your final night, and so on, and so on. We stayed 3 nights and are so happy that we did. Thank you John, Margaret, Michelle and everyone else for a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: Try to get a bay view
