We have been to the aquarium three times this summer, and my four year old does not tire of it. There is good value in the tickets when you pre-book them online, and the great thing is that it is valid for the day - so you can go out for a while and come back later that day for another wander around or time it with feeding displays etc. I adored the penguins - however this time, they weren't very happy ... a very friendly staff member told us about their molting and how they were "depressed penguins" ... made us feel very sorry for them but I'm sure they'll be back to their normal perky selves once they get their new feathers!
The shark tank is brilliant, the female shark swam right by at eye level to myself and my little girl so we got an up close look at her teeth, frightening and thrilling all in one!
Of course there are the countless other species to see, from catfish to pirhana and we have to find Nemo every time. We got to touch a crab and hold a starfish at the touch tank during feeding time, and got to rub the wings of the very friendly rays there. It's lovely to see the mixture of exotic and Irish all in the one place.
The gift shop is lovely and we always seem to come home with something. The children's area then is fantastic as well - face painting, free balloons, bubble making, colouring, a rain maker ... as well as puppet shows etc during the day.
This really is a fabulous attraction that is well worth a visit.
