Owner description: A large aquarium filled with countless species of marine life.
Reviewed 2 September 2013

We have been to the aquarium three times this summer, and my four year old does not tire of it. There is good value in the tickets when you pre-book them online, and the great thing is that it is valid for the day - so you can go out for a while and come back later that day for another wander around or time it with feeding displays etc. I adored the penguins - however this time, they weren't very happy ... a very friendly staff member told us about their molting and how they were "depressed penguins" ... made us feel very sorry for them but I'm sure they'll be back to their normal perky selves once they get their new feathers!
The shark tank is brilliant, the female shark swam right by at eye level to myself and my little girl so we got an up close look at her teeth, frightening and thrilling all in one!
Of course there are the countless other species to see, from catfish to pirhana and we have to find Nemo every time. We got to touch a crab and hold a starfish at the touch tank during feeding time, and got to rub the wings of the very friendly rays there. It's lovely to see the mixture of exotic and Irish all in the one place.
The gift shop is lovely and we always seem to come home with something. The children's area then is fantastic as well - face painting, free balloons, bubble making, colouring, a rain maker ... as well as puppet shows etc during the day.
This really is a fabulous attraction that is well worth a visit.

We took our daughter to Ocean World and she had a blast. Our favorite room was the penguin room. There's also a movie and sign that tells you about Tom Crean a Kerry Ireland legend. Ocean World also has a kids area where they do face painting and you are allowed to leave and return to Ocean World for the rest of the day. You really get your money's worth here.

This was our second visit to Oceanworld so we already knew what we were in for. I would agree that it is expensive, but then I'm sure the upkeep isn't cheap. However, I like the small displays and the staff are friendly and interesting. There were a couple of guys walking around whose role it was to answer any questions and they were very informative. The sharks are great, we could have spent half and hour just watching them and the penguins are, of course, the stars of the show. I like that you can go in and out so that you don't have to hang around waiting for the different feeding times and when we went there was free entertainment for the kids, including a massive bubble maker that entertained all of us, not just our daughter!

A respectable aquarium at the edge of Dingle Harbour. You'll find such sea life as sharks, octopus and brightly colored coral fish. The touch tank is a real treat with very friendly sting rays and helpful staff.

But the true stars of this aquarium are in the Polar Penguin Experience. The fun Gentoo Penguins swim, eat and play in their icy home. Each penguin wears an armband so you can tell one from another. So much fun to watch them interact. And they swim so quickly!

Great bonus for this aquarium- your ticket allows you all-day access to the aquarium. So you can visit in the morning and return in the afternoon for programs like penguin feeding.

A very cute aquarium. Our daughter went wild over the penguin exhibit! (Only con would be is that the penguin exhibit could use more space for them!) I loved seeing the sharks and turtle as well as the touch pool! The rays were fab!!! Will be back when we make another trip to Dingle!!!
