Awesome attraction. Amazing. Drive to right up Pilgrim Route and park at free lot and don't pay. Parking at privately owned visitors center has lame movie and gift shop all for €3 charge.

A real highlight of our drive around the Dingle peninsula. Nothing else left like it in Ireland. Beautiful spot as well.

Visited this while on a short break recently. Had visited years previously and liked it. This time not so much, why? The charge of €3 each to see it and enjoy their shop, didn't bother with their audio visual centre. Can the OPW just answer why they have to charge €3 to see An old religious site??!
It just seems bizarre and unneeded, just to make money. Gallarus should have free entry!!

The Gallarus Oratory is a must see if you are traveling in County Kerry. The architectural engineering of this structure is impressive. The grounds are well maintained and the staff is very pleasant.

The Gallarus Oratory is a fine example of corbelling or corbel vaulting. This is a method of building with flat stones so each one slopes slightly to allow rain water to simply run off. This building is still dry inside after many hundreds of years.

The site itself has toilets, a cafe, gift shop and a small but functional video room showing a continuous short film on the history of the attraction.

The attraction is wheelchair accessible but only just. If you're wheelchair bound and travelling alone you may find this a challenge.

All in all, this attraction is well worth the visit.
