“Peace and quiet”
Reviewed 27 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Stayed for a couple of days, wish I could have stayed longer. Great house with all you could need and the owners can't do enough for you. Stunning views and peace and quiet what more do you need.

“This place and location is a hidden gem!”
Reviewed 18 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We initially booked this as the reviews were so great, however you can't fault the cost either. Everything and I mean everything is included. Every single piece of kitchen equipment that you could ask for plus a very welcoming gift of a bottle of wine, chocolates and homemade marmalade.

It is a very spacious property in the most amazing location with everything on your doorstep. Kappagh beach is directly opposite and Fremoyle beach is better than Inch and some of the top beaches I have visited in the world.

Connor pass is a ten minute drive with a twenty minute drive to reach the town of Dingle. The closest pub that we enjoyed was Murphys on the pier this guy is really making a go of this place and it is homely with the locals. At Brandon point you can view Dolphins and the boat trip in Dingle to see Funghi was a hit with the kids.

The local bakery does the most amazing soda bread and has most items for sale. If you were considering a trip to The Dingle Peninsula I would book here a absolutely no doubt about it!!

“Very welcoming house with generous touches.”
Reviewed 24 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

This house is fantastic. It is bright and airy. The hosts left us a welcome pack of a good bottle of red wine and some lovely chocolate which was made on the Dingle Peninsula also some doggy biscuits , something for everyone including our dog. The weather was not good and we ended up lighting the stove in the sitting room. All was provided , the owners had left us , some peat , some kindling as well as some big logs and some firelighters. Very generous. The house has a big garden with gates. The views from the front windows are of the beach and mountains. Its such a relaxing place with loads of walking routes around. The tv has excellent reception and there are loads of booklets on the area in the hallway. The sitting room has a very comfortable couch and two big arm chairs the type that you sink into. There is a separate dining room which has a big table in it as well as a table in the kitchen. It has all and more that you would need in the kitchen. The two pubs up the road are great for food and Murphy's is beside a small harbor. The bathroom is big with a bath and separate shower. This is a good place for family or friends or a small group. We will definitely come back again. Other parts of the Dingle Peninsula are very touristy but where the cottage is isn't which adds to its lovely tranquil atmosphere. All parts of the peninsula are very close.

“Lovely peaceful place!”
Reviewed 24 July 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We stayed at Brandon Mountain Cottage for a week in May 2016. The cottage is comfortable and has everything you can think of! We met the owners and they were very friendly and helpful. The welcome pack of wine, chocolate and homemade marmalade was a lovely surprise! The cottage is in a great location. The bakery at the local shop is amazing and worth visiting every morning! The landlord at the pub in Brandon was very friendly and welcoming to us and our young children. We saw dolphins on several occasions at Brandon Point which is just up the road. We had a lovely week and would definitely recommend!

“Most peaceful and relaxing place”
Reviewed 11 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Brandon Cottage was all that we could ask for in a self contained cottage and a peaceful place for my Sister and I to relax and unwind. Linda was most welcoming and informative about the area. There was a multitude of information pamphlets and hand drawn maps for walks and sites for all ages in the cottage foyer. Cottage was very clean and had a well appointed kitchen. Bedroom views upstairs were great and beds very comfortable. Village near by has a small store with most everything you could need and an absolutely GREAT bakery within. Try the ginger bread baked on Wednesday! A beautiful beach was within a short walk of the cottage. You pay for utilities (elec and oil) at the end of your stay and rates are posted so no surprises. The area has wonderful drive to views, and many hiking trails. Locals were friendly and helpful. We could get cell coverage at the cottage, but internet was obtained by going to one of the local pubs or the hostel. We enjoyed our stay so much that we stayed an extra day and it is definitely on our list of accommodations when we return. Thank you so much Linda, was great meeting and talking with you!

“Wonderful peaceful escape”
Reviewed 31 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Had a wonderful few days staying in this immaculate cottage. Right from the first contact with the owners we felt like our holiday and enjoyment in this cottage really mattered and Linda could not have been more helpful. It was such a great escape to a beautiful peaceful location within walking distance of the beach with no one there but ourselves!! We will most definitely return. Thank you so much Linda for making our short break so enjoyable.

“Excellent Cottage in Incredible Surroundings”
Reviewed 4 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

My partner and I stayed in Brandon Mountain Cottage for 3 nights in March 2016 and had an amazing time. The cottage is located just outside the village of Cloghane, with coastal views over the bay to the front of the house and Brandon Mountain to the rear.

The cottage itself was clean, well sized with all the amenities you need to stay there. The bedrooms are well sized and have comfortable beds and, best of all, waking up with a view over the bay is a welcome change to the cityscape that I usually see! The living room has a brilliant wood-burner, several chairs, a TV and DVD player. The kitchen is well equipped with pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. There's also a dining room for larger parties to eat. You have to pay for the heating and electricity at the end of your stay, however, for two of us for 3 nights, this came to approximately 6 euros and we could have been more frugal in the use of the heating so it isn't really an issue. In the summer, I can imagine the large garden is very useful, particularly for families.

Linda and Eileen were lovely, providing really useful information and communication whilst we were booking the Cottage and then going out of their way to make us feel welcome whilst we were there. They provided some logs to burn on the stove, a bottle of wine and chocolates when we arrived and suggested we go to the pub one evening to meet villagers.

Cloghane has a couple of nice pubs, a shop with a bakery and, at about 1km from the Cottage, it can be walked (although we didn't walk because it was a bit wet and chilly).
It's about a 15 minute drive to Dingle, navigating over the Connor Pass (the highest mountain pass in Ireland) which has stunning views over the Dingle peninsula and Mount Brandon. Also, there are a number of walks from the top of the pass and a hidden lake about three-quarters of the way up.

Dingle has some great restaurants, cafes and shops and routes to other parts of the peninsula such as Ventry and Slea Head.

If you don't feel like driving, you can walk up Mount Brandon from the cottage or walk to Brandon Point, which again provides some staggering scenery. Everywhere you look on the peninsula, the views are postcard-perfect and the cottage provides a great base from which you can begin exploring.

I'd recommend the cottage to anyone with an interest in the outdoors, particularly watersports, walking and climbing. Having said that, there's so much to see and do all the way around the peninsula, I can't imagine anyone struggling for entertainment!

Thanks Linda and Eileen for making us feel very welcome and letting us stay in your fantastic cottage!
