We have recently returned from a great week-long stay at this lovely house.
Great communication from the owners before arrival, with spot-on directions so the house was very easy to find.
Our party comprised of 14 family members of all ages, and it was perfectly suited for all of us. With all of the living areas and most of the bedrooms on the ground floor, this suited both young children and the older generation, with not having to negotiate the stairs. Plenty of bathrooms to go around so all felt like they had their privacy.
Great kitchen fully equipped with enough plates/glasses/kitchen utensils for such a large group. Only small point I will add is that we were only provided with one washing up sponge, half a bottle of washing up liquid, one roll of kitchen paper and one spare loo roll for each bathroom. For the number of people in our party this was not enough, and we had to stock up mid week. This was not a huge problem, however to be truly luxurious, it might be nice to have back-up supplies tucked away in a cupboard.
Beautiful decking and outside space with views of the ocean and a short 5 minute walk to the bay. The last 10 yards of the walk down to the beach is extremely steep and rocky, so is difficult for people unsteady on their feet!
10 minute drive into lovely Dingle where there is lots to do for families. As we visited during July and the school holidays, we found that Dingle town centre got very busy in the afternoons and we had to wait for parking, so visiting in the morning is preferable. Lovely scenic drives close by too.
It was the perfect house for our family trip and we will have great memories of our holiday to Dingle. We hope to return one day!
First of all the house - 6 bedrooms, 4 1/2 baths, and the perfect kitchen/ dining area to gather, with an adjacent deck when weather is nice. The house is very well maintained, with an extensive yard. Then, the location is perfect for a relaxing vacation, yet not too far (about 15 minutes by car) from the town of Dingle. It is a pastoral site, with a few dairy farms, and a short walk to a remote beach. Great for kids!
And the kids loved the beach, the cows in the next pasture and a neighborhood dog called "Monster" (very friendly, hardly a monster). I would strongly recommend this house for an extended family vacation. For us it turned out better than our highest expectations.
I stayed at the home of Niamh Ni Chanainn and her husband Frank with my extended family of 12 adults and 3 children. In a photo the house may appear deceptively small from the outside, but it was surprisingly spacious and roomy.
The beach, which is a short walk down the road was as lovely as you could hope for, and the drive in to Dingle was about 10 minutes and kind of fun (especially if you don't mind occasionally sharing the road with a herd of cattle from the farm down the road).
Niamh and Frank were very attentive to our needs and quick to respond to questions. I highly recommend this house!
My husband and I and our family all wish we had more time than the five wonderful days we spent at this beautiful home on Dingle Peninsula. We knew this home and its location were special as soon as we arrived - feeling at home and at rest at this perfectly equipped home in its idyllic location, with working farms nearby, views of horses and sheep in the fields and hills behind the home and cows across the way. We so enjoyed the short walk down to this location’s very special beach which lends grand views of the Atlantic Ocean and mountains beyond, especially when we were greeted and escorted midway to the beach by one very friendly dog of a neighboring family that seemed to enjoy the walk, beach and company as much as us. The home’s large, airy kitchen and dining area and its outdoor deck provided the perfect setting for our large family gatherings before and after busy days in the nearby Town of Dingle and tours of the west coast of Ireland, and at the end of each day we enjoyed a very comfortable night’s sleep. We were sad when our time at this home came to an end but hope to make it back in the near future. Thank you Niamh and Frank! We had a wonderful time!
The location is truly superb - ocean views to the front and mountain views from every other room! Short drive to Dingle town, but also nicely placed for doing the Conor Pass or Slea Head drives....highly recommended. There were twelve of us altogether, 8 adults and 4 kids and everyone had more than enough space. The house is beautifully finished throughout and is equipped with everything you could possibly need. Beautiful spacious kitchen, two tv rooms, heating was perfect. So much care and attention has been given to every room and the beds are extremely comfortable. Never a queue for the bathroom as two rooms were en-suite and the rest had own bathroom next door. Niamh and Frank were very fair and accommodating, and their house exceeded our expectations in every way. We could not fault a single thing and will definitely consider visiting again!
We loved our stay here! We had 15 people and it accommodated us perfectly. We had 5 kids, which meant people were awake/sleeping at all different times, and it was perfect because the house has doors to close off so many parts of the house - tons of quiet places to sleep! Beds are comfy, everything is well kept and updated, a beautiful beach just a short walk away, hiking trail in the hills overlooking cliffs and the ocean, horses and cows to vist, and a short drive to the town of Dingle. We wish we were back there now!
We booked the house from 28th October to 4th November. 2 families inclusive grandparents (9 adults and 5 children). The house is very well equipped, very clean and modern. There´s a big kitchen with a lot of space, 2 fridges and many other modern kitchen appliances. The house with a big garden is located apart from the main street so there´s no problem to let the children play outside. You can reach Dingle in about 10 minutes by car. Dingle is a nice little town with many pups, a big supermarket, quite a few other shops, cafes and a nice port. At the port you can book fishing trips with the boat to catch your own fish for dinner. Not to forget to visit Fungi, the famous dolphin from Dingle-Bay. Altogether again a very nice holiday in Ireland. We will come back definitely.
