Hi folks, we revisited The Boatyard Restaurant as we so loved it last time we were there. It was a bright sunny day and Dingle was packed with tourists. Such a great atmosphere. We could see the restuarant was packed even though it was about 13.30 when we got there. We managed to grab a table outside and even though they were run off their feet, the waitress cleared the table almost straight away. She warned us that there could be a wait but hey! the sun was shining and we were sitting looking at the sea so we didn't mind. I suppose it was about 25mins but then Gavin came to take our order. I must tell you about Gavin! He is a seriously funny man. We really enjoyed his droll sense of humour and he was so natural and friendly. I am presuming he's the owner or manager as he was very relaxed and sat down for a quick chat despite the busy time they were having.
Once again we had a fabulous meal and we have promised ourselves to go back for dinner sometime soon. We would recommend it and if you do go, have a chat with Gavin, it will make your day!

Five of us called in here last week on the way back to Killarney after the Slea Head Drive.
Had dinner booked for that night so ate lightly.
2 of us had chowder which was superb with very good brown bread.
2 shared mussels which were rated superb.
And one fish cake was also reported as very good.
Good quick service, nice friendly staff, very nice location overlooking the harbour.
Not a wine expert, but list was short but we enjoyed the Pinot Grigio and Cabernet Sauvignon we ordered.

Went here in March with my husband. The restaurant was smaller than expected, but they had some part closed off at the front which was understandable as it was a very wet and windy evening so may not have been expecting many people out. It was very nicely laid out however and liked the simple nautical type decor. We ordered the seafood platter and some items were missing but the chef added some wonderful things instead. My husband particularly liked a smoked haddock gratin that the chef added and the lemon sole I loved. The waitress was very nice and friendly. The atmosphere was very nice. Will definately be returning as the fish was so delicious and I am sure in nicer weather that it must be a great spot to eat as it overlooks the pier and view would be great.

My friends and I had dinner here in April and I think between us we tasted 90% of the menu!
We didn't book and arrived around 7pm on a Sunday and they managed to seat 5 of us easily. The restaurant could easily seat big parties but manages to feel very cosy instead still.

The staff seemed in good spirits and our waiter brought over the specials and recommended a bottle of wine that was on offer and was friendly throughout.

The only ingredient the restaurant could not cater for was all of our requests for scallops as starters. They managed 2 out of 4 though so not too bad and we got to try more things that way. However, if you really are desperate for something off the menu you may want to call and pre-book.

Highlights were the monkfish and pancetta and crab claws. Absolutely delicious!
