“Great Stay!”
Reviewed 16 August 2013

We stayed at the Emlagh House in Dingle and couldn't have made a better choice. The room was very clean, large, and comfortable. The location was perfect to walk the town and the breakfast was very good. Dingle was a great visit and we are glad we chose the Emlagh House for our stay.

The Dingle peninsula is my favorite place to visit in Ireland, and now I have a strong favorite B&B, Emlagh House! There just aren't enough superlatives to describe this place. We had a huge and beautiful room with a private patio. Marian, our hostess, and her lovely daughters, were exceedingly gracious and helpful - even helping us practice our few Gaelic words. Breakfast was the very, very best we had on our trip. The location is ideal for exploring the Dingle peninsula. Dingle town is a perfect tourist town with lots of shops, restaurants and pubs.

Room Tip: Ask for the room with a patio if available!

Wonderful.
Bose radio in the bedroom.
Freshly squeezed OJ in the morning
with marvelous breakfast, (a relief actually
not to be confronted with the buffet for a change..)
Great bathrooms with separate
shower and bath, not very common
these days. Welcoming fire, tea and delicious
coffee cake on arrival....All staff gracious and
helpful...what else can I say?

Room Tip: Wild Orchid is one of the less expensive but it is a lovely cosy room.

We were truly fortunate to get a room as we were travelling without a reservation. If and when we return to the Dingle area, we will be certain to have our room (Iris) reserved. The greeting, the ambiance, the assistance with dinner reservations, etc. Our hosts could not have done more to make our stay perfect.
I have one concern: The Emlagh house is for sale so hurry...I can not imaging someone duplicating the overall hospitality of this Mother/daughter combination.

Room Tip: The Iris is on the first floor and was large, bright, perfect in every regard.

This was our first B&B and it was absolutely lovely. We had a large room, fabulous breakfast and the house is perfectly located for walks into town. Parking is easy and the owner and her daughter were friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend.

We arrived in Dingle after driving for several hours, tired and hungry. Our reservations at another hotel were messed up and they had no rooms for that night. After checking around, we discovered a vacancy at the Emlagh House. We were warmly greeted by Marian who told us not to worry, she called and made dinner reservations for us, even offered to drive us there and said we could take care of check-in and luggage later. When we returned from the fabulous "Half-Door" restaurant, she had waited up for us (having just taken a shower and in her bathrobe) to help us get settled in. We were feeling very distraught and she took us in and took care of us! On top of all this, we had the most beautiful room and lovely breakfast. I can't say enough good things about this place!!!!

Room Tip: With only 8 rooms, you can't go wrong.

Our family of 3 stayed here for 2 nights in July. We were traveling for nearly a month in England, Ireland, and Scotland, and this was one of our very favorite places. The house is gorgeous, with spacious and well appointed rooms, a huge bathroom, and comfy public spaces. Oh, and the artwork around the house is magnificent - lots of great local pieces. The breakfast is outstanding - I'm still dreaming of all of the wonderful options! Marion and Grainne took such nice care of us, from when I first made my reservation online to our departure.

We only had 6 days in Ireland and finally narrowed down our itinerary to include Dingle, and I'm sure glad we did. We fell in love with this little town and the stunning natural surroundings. If anyone is considering a visit to the west of Ireland, I whole-heartedly recommend Dingle and The Emlagh House. I can't wait to return.
