“Great B&B to enjoy the beauty of Dingle and area”
Reviewed 1 June 2010

My friend and I stayed 2 nights at Murphy's B&B in Dingle. The twin room was very roomy, clean and tastefully decorated. The location is right on main street with plenty of great pubs and great places to eat within easy reach. Owners were helpful and friendly and I would recommend this B&B to anyone staying in Dingle. As well, when in Dingle, don't forget to take a boat trip out to see Fungi the Dingle dolphin. Yes it is true, he really does exist and is still around after all these years! We got to see him both coming and going from the bay on our ecotour boat trip.

Made a last minute trip to Ireland to spend the week with my daughter who had done student teaching in Northern Ireland. Just from looking at the internet we booked a night at Dingle Pub. They only had one night available. It was ok at best. Left the next morning and came upon Murphy's Pub, which my brother had recommended for their seafood chowder. Noticed a sign next door at Murphy's B&B and went in. What a find for us! The room was nice, CLEAN, and Mrs. Murphy as sweet as could be. We said we wanted to sightsee and she gave us a name of Mr. Dennis Ryan, who we asked her to call up. He took us on a 2 hour tour of the peninsula which was absolutely fantastic. Our pictures look like paintings! We came away with a wealth of information on the history and culture of Dingle as well as surrounding areas. If I get the chance to return, I will definitely stay there as well as recommend to any friends. BTW, my daughter did get the chowder next door and did like it!

No frills room, but very clean, and the host is wonderful. We had a problem with the heater in our room, the maintenance guy came up right away and fixed it. If you go to Dingle you won't spend a lot of time inside your room, so I wouldn't spend tons of money on accomodations. Murphy's was perfect for us, great breakfast menu, helpful host. We loved that stay.

I returned to Murphy's again in September for two nights.
It was spotless and I had the same room which was very comfortable and clean.
Breakfast was top-class and I went away a very happy customer.
They do the B&B thing very, very well.

Right on Dingle's working yet scenic waterfront this is a wonderful place to spend a night. Rooms are nothing crazy but tidy and clean. The breakfast at Murphy's is the best I've had in Ireland, hands down! Pub isn't my favorite in the area but anyone who's been to Dingle knows the bar is set pretty high there.

We stayed in this B&B recently and would highly recommend it. It is centrally located, very clean, decent size rooms and excellent value. The breakfast was very good and Siobhan and Michael are very welcoming hosts.

******WARNING******

This could only happen in Ireland and especially in Kerry.

There are two Murphy's B&B's in Dingle, whats worse is that they are next door to each other and totally un-related.

One is a pub with rooms upstairs and the other is a purpose build guest house above a gift shop. We thought that we had booked the pub, it's the red building in the pictures and when we went to check in, we were told we had no reservation, but to try next door. Sure enough, we had a reservation there (the green building)

The guest house is excellent, clean tidy, with great service and great breakfasts. It's quiet, apart from the crows squarking at 5am and is perfectly placed for the town and harbour. I would reccommend it to any one, although the stairs are a bit steep for the infirmed or seriously over weight.

We went in Murphy's pub for a beer and it's OK, despite a couple of entertaining drunks at the bar. Obviousy I have no idea what the rooms are like.

So, when reading all of the other reviews on this site of Murphy's, ask yourself "Which one are they talking about?"

WE, Micheal & Siobhan Murphy, own and run our Bed & Breakfst here in Strand Street, Dingle for the last 15 yrs. We are right next door to Murphy's Pub, which does cause confusion for many guests ! Unfortunately we cannot change name or our proud heritage. We do explain to our guests where we are locate and give good discreption of our home "green & white building with 2 shop units downstairs". To our future guests we hope this clears up the confusion and to all our past guests we welcome ye back !
