“amazing. fab experience”
Reviewed 6 August 2013

we ate in Idás the other night because i won a prize from liking and sharing their page on facebook. it was one of the finest and most pleasurable nights i have had. from the little touches (glass of prosecco, flowers and vibrant atmosphere and music) to the fab food with a taste of sheer delight. the lobster starter, the hake and the lemon posset were amazing. topping the night was the joys of hearing the irish spoken to all. keep up the good work. i will be back again.... happy and smiling customer.

“Unforgettable dining experience”
Reviewed 2 August 2013

Four of us ate here on a glorious summer's evening. It felt like a little Greek enclave with its whitewashed walls and blue rafters and fresh cut flowers. The food was truly sublime: from the lobster starter to the John Dory and Lemon Sole main and the chocolate dessert. The service too, from the sole waiter, was well above average. As an experience, I'd rate it as one of the best I've had all year.

“Highly recommend it...”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

We ate at Idas the other night... A very understated restaurant tucked away behind TP's in Ballydavid... Really impressed... Fantastic Irish food and you can tell every last detail is thought through... From the lobster starter to the chocolate fondant (amazing) and probably the best steak either of us have ever had... Great service, amazing location and all at a reasonable price... Highly recommend it!

“A taste of the Atlantic”
Reviewed 22 July 2013

Ate here as part of a group so we got to see and sample a wide range of dishes. It's natural, fresh and imaginative. The sauces were distinctively delicious but never overpowering - the fresh food did the talking! The menu was surprisingly creative, with a mix of local Atlantic specialities and international fusion inspirations. The vegetables and salad were grown by the chef where possible and given the little fishing boats unloading 50 feet from the restaurant, it's easy to see where the seafood comes from! Refreshing - great to see this tiny atmospheric fishing village putting itself on the gastronomic map, with a passionate chef and friendly staff.

“Heavenly”
Reviewed 17 July 2013

Happened on this place by chance,it's behind Tigh TP pub in Baile na nGall(Ballydavid).
It's like a regular home from the outside but inside awaits a heavenly dining experience,a lovely airy dining room with local artists work on the walls.
The service and food is excellent and showcases the local ingredients available.
I had the hake with mint pea puree and the presentation/taste was wonderful.
Don't miss this!
