We were lucky enough to spend 3 nights @ the Castlewood House while in Dingle. As soon as we entered the lovely guesthouse, we knew it was a very special place where the owners make every effort to assure their guests a memorable stay. The accommodations are extremely comfortable and although newly built 9 years ago, the public rooms are filled with antique dishes and comfortable furniture that reminds of a timeless Ireland. The bedrooms are spacious with large wardrobes and dressers that easily store your clothing. The owners, Brian and Helen, are extremely charming and eager to recommend activities and restaurants to make your stay the best it can be. The view is over the bay and you can watch the tides come in and out. It is within easy walking distance to the shops and pubs downtown. Castlewood breakfasts are a wonderful way to start your day. Don't miss the award winning scones! I could continue, but just trust me, you'll not forget a stay @ the Castlewood House!

Castlewood House deserves all of the accolades it receives on TripAdvisor. The rooms are immaculate, service is impeccable, and the breakfasts are the best I have ever had. It was a short 5-10 minute walk into town to the shops, pubs, etc. and Brian gave us a load of names of places he recommended for dinner upon check in, which was great. The rave reviews are accurate, don't hesitate booking at Castlewood!

AGREE! Trip Advisor's pick for TOP 25 was correct. My daughter and I stayed the day before they were picked. Helen and Brian are super. Helen is a warm welcome in the breakfast room. Brian's eggs benedict are the best. What a wonderful breakfast: pears and plums poached in wine, etc. Special pancakes. From the quiet refined entry to the beautifully appointed rooms, it was the highlight of our trip. Walked along the coast a short distance to "Out of the Blue" for a Michelin dinner.

We had a deluxe room and the view out over the bay was lovely. Room was beautiful and overall the place was immaculate. The staff were also very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was really fantastic. Everything about this place is pure class!

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a view of the bay, we were in room 9 a deluxe room.

We stayed in room 4, facing the rear garden. It was a very well appointed room with nice light and a sitting area. If you want to see a picture of it (or a room that looks exactly like it) go to their website, then "our rooms", then "classic rooms". We loved the high ceilings and tile work in the bathroom. There is a very nice separate shower. Enjoyed the books (really enjoyed the poetry which I would generally not go for) and the general quiet and serene atmosphere. I am guessing either one or both of our hosts collect ceramics, glass and silver. You can ask them about items that you see as they might just be available to purchase. Whilst on the subject, who is the potter of the lovely almost black pots that held the cereal in the dining room? I am guessing I will have an answer shortly since all reviews are acknowledged. I would have been very happy with a half, not full Irish breakfast to make room for more of the other delicious items that Brian prepares. I enjoyed the stewed rhubarb, bread pudding, and a lovely pastry twist with pastry cream. Yum! My husband also enjoyed his kippers and scrambled eggs. We stayed at another property the following night as we were unable to extend our stay - they're too popular! After staying at another Dingle B & B, I can say that I found the value at Castlewood to be quite good. So if you're wondering how many nights to stay, go for the longer stay. Short walk to town, Brian will steer you towards the better dinner restaurants in Dingle. We enjoyed two of his many recommendations. Thanks for a memorable stay.

Room Tip: The website gives a good representation of the rooms. Though we did not have a sea view, our room...

Came here for a two night stay with my girlfriend for a weekend away. The house is located a short walk from the centre of Dingle. We had a superb stay. The room was spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed. As has been mentioned in several reviews the breakfast was excellent. There is a buffet of various fruit, pastries, cereals, juices etc. Then there is a wide selection of hot dishes to choose from in addition ranging from a full Irish breakfast to omelettes to porridge to pancakes. The staff were all excellent - really helpful with tips. We wanted to do some walking and they provided maps and advice.

If you are going to Dingle definitely stay here.

We visited Castlewood as a first of four stops over ten days and nowhere did we come close to the amenities, service and beauty of the Castlewood. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys exceptional service and extremely hospitable hosts.
