“only one complaint about Castlewood”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 November 2010

if Helen would allow ""Brians Breakfast" to go on till about 3 in the afternoon, we could attack the first course, have a sleep till say. 11, then be fit to try something else, then another sleep or a stroll, till about 2, then finish off with another of Brian's delights. As it is, I get a look from my other half which says..."you really can't eat that as well!!"
Never mind
After several visits, we no longer refer to it as Castlewood House, but Helen and Brian's, the warmth of the welcome is such.
From a standing start to world class hotel (by any standards you care to set) in just five years, (though I've no doubt it was this good on day one.) Well done Helen and Brian, your success is richly deserved, as is all the praise you get from your guests

This trip was our sixth yearly stay at Castlewood House and, as ever, Brian and Helen exceeded our expectations. Their B&B is by some margin, the best we have stayed in in Ireland and the high standards we have come to expect have been maintained.
A beautifully furnished room, a fantastic breakfast and warm and knowledgeable hosts ensure a great stay.

I cannot say enough about this guesthouse. I am not one for b&b's, however with the great reviews on tripadvisor I thought it was worth a visit, and i wasnt disappointed!! This guesthouse was far better than some of the 4star hotels i have stayed in. Greeted by Brian when we arrived he gave us a map of the town and recommended loads of restaurants for us to eat in. The room itself was so spacious and spotless clean. We had a large king-sized bed, flat-screen t.v. and a view overlooking the bay. The bathroom had a power shower and a seperate jacquzzi bath. The room also had heated towel rails, complementary drinking water and shampoo and bodywash. The breakfast room overlooked the bay, we were spoiled for choice with a buffet that consisted of home-made breads, juices, cereals, yoghurts, fruit...the list is endless. We also had a choice of ordering cooked breakfast from the kitchen...the pancakes are to die for!!
We will be back!!

This is a relatively new facility that has been well designed to be an elegant guest house/bed and breakfast. The first floor has a large central foyer, a spacious and well lit breakfast room and a comfortable living room. The rooms were very large, with comfortable beds and suprisingly large bathrooms. Everything was tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. The breakfast offering was quite varied and well prepared. Finally, our hosts were very pleasant and provided good recommendations for dinner and entertainment.

My husband and I recently visited Ireland and spent two days in Dingle. We fell in love with the town and can't wait to visit again. We enjoyed a very lovely stay at Castlewood House. It's probably the best place we have ever stayed. We had a junior suite overlooking Dingle Bay. It was a very spacious room, with beautiful furniture and decor. The bathroom was wonderful--with a heated towel rack, separate shower and jacuzzi tub. Everything was spotless and the entire house was beautifully decorated. There is gorgeous art on the walls by Helen's mother. Upon our arrival Brian greeted us and gave us a map indicating places that had great food and great nightlife. They even had a few menus in the library to view and get an idea of what restaurants served for dinner. We took up one of his suggestions and enjoyed a wonderful dinner at a local restaurant the first night there. The next morning we enjoyed the BEST breakfast!!! Everything was cooked to perfection and just so delicious!!!! Helen was so wonderful and gave us a map with sites to stop and see around our drive after breakfast. We enjoyed the walk to get into the center of town, about 5-10 minutes away from the house. It was the best place we stayed in while in Ireland. It was hard to finally leave! We can't wait to visit again sometime soon!

just back from 4 days in dingle, went with my 2 sisters, normally we stop in self catering, but this time went to Castlewood Guest House, it was everything it said it would be,quiet, relaxing, beautiful, food was the best we have had, would reccomend to go even just for one night, the rooms were very spacious (that was my concern) that we would have no room, we had a tripple room between the three of us with a glorious bathroom, and there was loads of space, plently of tea and coffee on tap and even in the sitting room that was so relaxing, Brian and Helen did all they could to make your stay perfect EXCELLANT !!! 5*****

This is a very nice B&B just a short walk from the centre of Dingle. However, I felt that the price was far too high considering that it was low season. We paid the same price on our trip around Ireland to stay in 4 and 5 star boutique hotels!
The place is nice and very spacious. The room was huge and had a nice view over the bay, shame about the rain! The breakfasts were flawless every morning, great selection and wonderfully cooked. They certainly set us up for the rest of the day. The hosts were nice and welcoming, we really only saw them in the mornings.
I did think it was a nice B&B but as I said I think the price needs to be rethought.
