“We Loved Benner's”
Reviewed 29 May 2009

There is a real sense of antiquity to this hotel.
We stayed here for 3 nights and loved
Our room was right at the top of the old building, 426 I think it was.
This felt like a suite, it's a good sized room with plenty of character,
There is no lift so it might be an annoyance for some but we didn't mind.

Breakfast was always pleasant and served with attention
The staff were warm and welcoming and there was often a good buzz in the bar in the evenings.
We will certainly be back to this charming hotel

We've been staying at Dingle Benners since October 1988. The staff, from reception to waitstaff to housekeeping, have always made us feel comfortable and at home. They couldn't be more accommodating and friendly - always ready with helpful tips on day trips, happy to make reservations anywhere in the country for excursions out of town, recommendations on good restaurants in the area, and just generally glad to be of assistance! We look forward to returning every year - it's like coming home to our Irish family!!!! We've always received good reviews from friends we've sent there. All The Best from Joan & Kingsley Durant!

A majority of these hotel reviews do not match reality. Don't know where else these people have stayed besides this place, but their expectations could not have been much. The wall heater in our room was hanging off of the wall, there were holes in the walls, bathroom was tiny, furniture very Econo Lodge like..

Would never recommend this to a friend of mine or an enemy for that matter.

The only good thing - we were only there one night - couldn't wait to leave.

We loved Benners Hotel. It is right on the main street in charming Dingle and had a large parking lot - what a blessing! The hotel is very charming with lots of little lounges and sitting areas. There is a nice bar in the front and a restaurant in the middle. We did not eat a dinner there, but the breakfast (included) was terrific. Our room was VERY spacious with a large sitting area, a queen sized bed and a twin bed. The bathroom was very nicely appointed. We even had a little garden outside our room - we couldn't access it - but it was pretty to look at. Everything in Dingle was right within an easy walk. The staff at the desk were really helpful - both about Dingle and about other areas of Ireland. We really would have made some major mistakes in scheduling without their help. The only negative is that the internet access is only in the front lobby so you need to leave your room but that was just a minor inconvenience.

We arrived on Friday evening for a weekend in and around the Dingle penninsula and received a warm friendly welcome from the receptionist. She was really charming and asked did we want a hand with our bags? had we stayed here previously? She also gave us the run down on dining at the hotel, brekkie in the morning and the bar etc.
Our room was really spacious, with a double and single bed, a welcoming tray, a pretty seating area by the window. There was loads of wardrobe space. The bathroom was huge too. The TV had some duplicate channels but covered the basics and there were extra blankets and pillows too if we needed them.
The guys working in the bar were friendly and helpful too as were any of the staff we encountered during our stay.
The carpark was huge, and the hotel was close to loads of pubs and restuarants if we wanted to dine out.
We got a great deal on the two nights and I would definitely recommend you check these out if you are looking for a relaxing break with everything you need on hand and close proximity.

Having decided to visit Dingle over New Years, we decided to stay in the Benners Hotel after reading the reviews and the location of the hotel. We were disappointed to discover that it didn't live up to any of the other reviews at all. First of all we were assigned a very small room that was not decorated to the highest of standards. The room was very clean but was freezing and the only heat came from a small electric heater on the wall that you had to turn on and off yourself. Also, the TV was tiny, the size of a portable. We were surprised to discover over the couple of days of our stay that there were bigger rooms available in the hotel that were given to returning guests and we were told that we should have asked for a bigger room when we arrived! Obviously we didn't know there were bigger and better rooms till we saw another room in passing.

To add insult to injury the breakfast was disgusting. We ordered an Irish breakfast and the sausages and rashers were hard and uneatable, the pudding was cold yet the plates were hot!! Perhaps they heated everything up in the microwave?

Won't be staying in the hotel again and wouldn't recommend it to friends/ family. The only thing going for it is the location.

We stayed at the Dingle Benners Hotel has part of a driving vacation through Ireland in September. The Benners had been recommended by a friend that stays in Dingle quite frequently and always in this hotel. We were SO glad that we listened to her advice. The hotel was located in a great location for first time travelers to the area. Walking into the lobby of this Hotel was like walking into an old movie. With it's dark wood and obvious old world character it charmed me immediately. Our room was huge in comparison to all other places we stayed during our trip. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was full of little touches that really made this place stand out in my mind. The staff was honest and incredibly helpful in suggesting restaurants and local pubs. The view from our room in the morning as the sun came over the roof tops of Dingle is still one of my favorite memories of our trip. We will certainly be back!
