“Next stop New York”
Reviewed 27 November 2013

Beautiful scenery along some roads you think will never end, but when you arrive it's worth the journey. The peace and tranquillity is there to enjoy. There are miles of wonderful beaches to walk along, the lighthouse to see, Deirbhle's Twist is just up the road, St. Deirbhle's well that has a cure for eyes (according to folklore) and St. Deirbhle's chapel. Plenty to see.

“Beautiful Area”
Reviewed 27 August 2013

Lovely area to see and show the children the boats and harbour and lighthouse. This is also where the rescue helicopter re fuels and happened to be taking off as we arrived. Extra bonus for the kids to enjoy.

“Trip around the point”
Reviewed 14 July 2013

Pretty scenery involving the rural aspects and the sea. An overcast day did not detract from the place. Plenty of places to soak up the ambiance or go for a stroll.

“Blacksod beauty and the beast”
Reviewed 19 February 2013

Would like to echo, and amplify, a previous reviewer's sentiments regarding Belmullet and it's environs; a horrible sprawling mess of one off housing, strewn all over the landscape; English town planning this ain't! Of course, all of that detracts from one's experience of the bay, but not so much as to negate it's intrinsic beauty. The lighthouse is lovely, and one can scramble a good distance over the rocks nearby, to get more intimate with nature. The view towards Achill island is magnificent.
