This was a great discovery! We went on May bank holiday and it was a very pleasant experience overall. Large and comfortable room. Spotlessly clean throughout. Plenty of room to park the car. . Free wifi. Food was excellent too. Wonderful hosts who were so helpful. We will be back.! P & J.

Stayed at Abbey B&B on a recent visit to Ballina. Received a very warm welcome upon arrival. The Hosts provide a service which is top class, offering lots of local knowledge and information as to Ballina itself. For breakfast I had smoked salmon and my husband had a full Irish breakfast, it was fabulous. The room was spacious, comfortable and immaculate. The location was perfect for us, close to all amenities. Would definitely stay again if we are in Ballina.

Stayed in Abbey B & B while attending a wedding outside Ballina and it was absolutely gorgeous. The hosts went above and beyond the call of duty, especially when polishing my boyfriend's shoes (!) and driving us into Ballina before the wedding. The house is lovely, the rooms are spacious, comfortable and really clean. The breakfast was delicious and we could not have had a more pleasant stay in Abbey B & B. I would definitely recommend it and will stay there again if I am ever in the area.

After visiting Ballina on business mid 2012, I had the interesting experience of visiting during the salmon festival and thus had to spread my visit through many different B&B's where there was availability. I ended up at the abbey for a night and like it so much that I arranged to be here the next week. The business I was on lasted just over two months and I just kept going back, time after time. The breakfast was always first class, with many options. If there is nothing on the menu that takes your fancy, Nuala and James will try very hard to find something to your satisfaction.

The rooms are a good size, the beds are always very comfortable and everything is always clean.

Nuala and James are exceptional hosts, friendly and always attentive. Able to offer advice on local attractions and pubs.

Parking is free and off-road. Unlike several of the local hotels, the free internet actually works in the evening!

The only downside is that the front rooms are facing the road. That being said, the noise isn't too intrusive and it didn't interrupt my sleep once!

In June 2013 I returned to Ballina for a final sign of session with the work I was doing, and was very happy to return to the Abbey to see that the service was exactly as good as it had been!

Room Tip: Ask for one of the rear rooms if you're a light sleeper and road noise is an issue for you!

Thank you for your lovely review. We appreciate your comments and it was a pleasure having you in the house over a period of several months. We reserved the room at the front of the house because you requested that room when the booking was made. We look forward to seeing you again when you are working in Ballina.

Handy side of town in that it was close to the pub we planned to spend the night and is also really close to one of the best gastro pubs in Mayo, the train and bus station. The hosts were really friendly and full of chat. A nice touch was a reasonable selection of DVDs available in the hallway. The fry was good and they accept all laser /debit/credit cards which is handy. We would certainly stay there again.

I recently stayed in Abbey B&B with my girlfriend. It was a great find as we passed through Ballina while on holiday in the west of Ireland. We were given such a wonderful welcome from the two hosts who were very friendly, attentive and helpful. Our room was spotless and spacious with a beautiful en suite and great shower!! We had a variety of foods to choose from for breakfast-cereals, fruit, yoghurt, full irish-which was all very tasty and set us up for the day. The hosts helped us in choosing local attractions to visit and gave great directions. Everything was so perfect we stayed an extra night! Ballina is ideally located for travelling around the Mayo and Sligo area, and when I return I will definitely stay in Abbey B&B again. Thank you for a wonderful and relaxing stay.
