“Brilliant B&B”

I stayed at Bank House with my boyfriend at the end of February 2014. We were attending a wedding in the nearby Great Northern Hotel and we needed somewhere to stop for the night. We did not expect to have such an amazing stay at such a great price! Upon arriving the staff were really friendly and we had a good chat with them. We then got the lift up to our room. When we opened the door we couldn't believe it! The room was beautiful with a huge, comfortable bed and its own kitchenette, a living area with sofas and an en suite. We really couldn't have asked for better. There's a shop downstairs and the staff phoned us a taxi (the weather was ghastly) which arrived promptly. Unfortunately we didn't manage to sample the breakfast as we were a little worse for wear in the morning, but we phoned reception and requested a later check out time and it was no problem at all. I would recommend Bank House to anyone. I will definitely stay there next time I'm in Bundoran.

Room Tip: Room 32 is excellent

Just stayed for 1 night as was visiting my other half who is currently staying in bundoran.. excellent value.lovly cosy room.. had the best night sleep in a long time. Didn't have breakfast but it smelled lovley!

Shower door wonky and water a little cold but that didn't bother me at all as I got the room cheap..

what did bother me was when I was checking out. My partner met me in the b&b that morning at 9.15. He didn't stay over. When handing back my key at 11am I was cross questioned at the desk by the lady asking was I sure it was just myself whom stayed over. When I tried to tell her that yes - my partner only gets local pass she wouldn't listen. I was very embarrassed as me and my other half have often stayed away and booked a room for two. I would never try pull a 'stunt' like that. I told her to check the cameras if she didn't beleive me but she just walked in the back as I was trying to explain. How rude.
So disappointed as it was a lovely place so stay and I said to myself id definitely stay next weekend when visiting my boyfriend when hes on local pass but I don't want to go back now after that.

Arrived quite late to attend a function & up & away early nxt morning ..
Room was super value for money .. €60.. Where would u get it..
One of the best breakfasts ever.. Super selection but waiting on toast was vvvvv slow.. If there where 3 or 4 toasters it would speed it up greatly .. The waitress brought us fresh cooked eggs which was a bonus without asking..
Gleaming white towels & v glad to see that a notice was on show not to remove makeup with the towels.. My pet hate! That's what face wipes are for.. My only gripe was the shower was really noisy & a bit not grimy but tired & it was an electric shower that I feel had seen better days.. But didn't need my hair washed so no big problem.. But def excellent & a cute little shop to walk thru as u are shown to your room..

Great location and staff. Big rooms all en suite, the lift is great as I have an 80kg bag for work. Breakfast is a properly done buffet. Staff are always on hand to make fresh eggs or cater to queries. Value for money has to be the best I've got. I'll be back on my own time.

It is now 12:22am and I am still awake due to the people in room 26, shouting, slamming doors, music, their own little party. They've been asked politely to keep noise down but do not care.

I know I'll go speak to night porter... *knocks for 5mins* no answer... Maybe there isn't actually one employed and the information provided in the room is wrong. Who knows, if there is one though then they should be fired.

Not worth the €80 spent and won't be back. Happy anniversary to my partner and I eh?

It's now 12:30.

Hi Mikado1066,
I'm very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us.
I was made aware the morning after your stay that the guests in the room across from you had been making some noise during the night & they had been spoke to by the night porter on a couple of occasions. I apologies for any inconvenience the noise caused, it is not something that happens frequently in Bankhouse & it is not something that we tolerate.

In relation to the night porter, he generally stays on the ground floor until most of our guests have arrived in from their nights out. With entertainment on in the bars & hotels until about 1am on a Friday night, I suspect that when you were attempting to talk to him he was down stairs greeting the guests that were starting to arrive in from their nights out.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about us, its very unfortunate that your stay was not a pleasant one.

Best Regards,
Laura
