Was given a room which proved to be freezing, due to the radiator not working. I rang reception who said that they would attend to it. An hour later a man arrived to 'bleed' the radiator and tell me that all would be ok when the pump came on shortly. An hour later, still no heat!

As I was using the telephone line for the internet, I rapped the room next to me to use their phone, only to find one of the occupants in bed due to the extreme cold!!

I rang reception and asked for a room change, this they did, but asked me to come to reception to collect the key! The radiator in the room which I was allocated was working, but only just, and was incredibly small for the size of the room. A night of not too warm sleep.

At breakfast in the morning, only two other people were there. My scrambled egg and bacon, duly ordered with coffee, of sorts, came, like the radiator, freezing . . I asked them to change it for fresh, warm food!

I stay in quite a number of hotels and this must rate as one of the worst experiences as regards comfort, hospitality and cusine ... sorry, my patronage is removed ....

The Holyrood Hotel provided me and my family with the most disgusting and filthy rooms I paid a respectable mount of money and I was not prepared to stay in that room so my family and I moved three times. The Holyrood Hotel is a failure in my eyes and I strongly recommend nobody to attend.

The Holyrood Hotel was in fact one of the worst hotels I have ever been to in the whole of Northern Ireland and I strongly advise people to give this hotel a miss, for from my past experience staying here I am truly angry with the members of staff and conditions of this hotel.

Having booked a weekend Break recently. I was very pleased with the restaurant staff and the food was excellent.

The Prices are also quite reasonable. The bar was very quiet due to the fact that it was just after Christmas...but I enjoyed the stay!!

This was, without a doubt, the worst hotel experience of our two weeks of travel in Ireland.
My family of four had a reservation for a non-smoking room. Upon check-in, we were given the keys to an already occupied room. We returned to the front desk, luggage in tow. Next we were given a smoking room. The room was set up for two guests, not four. We called down to the front desk and requested more towels. They eventually sent up two more hand towels!!! At breakfast the following morning, we were shown to our table in a booth with chips all over the floor from the previous evenings dinner. The tables were dirty as well.

The guest services card in the room is out of date. Guests are allowed to use the pool at the nearby Great Northern for a fee. The fees listed on the card in the room is less than the fee actually charged.

We were attending a function at the Great Northern and wished to iron some clothes. We began trying to obtain an iron 30 hours before we needed one. Each time we called (5 times total) we were assured that one would be sent up as soon as one returned. Apparently there were only 10 irons for the entire hotel. One hour before our scheduled function, we made one last attempt to obtain an iron. The front desk said that they did have an iron, but no ironing board. My expectations being sufficiently low, I was happy to get that. So, off I set to the front desk to retrieve the long sought after iron. No one was available to bring it to the room. Upon reaching the front desk, "Oh, I'm sorry, I was mistaken, all of our irons are out at the momment. We'll send one up as soon as one returns."

There's a reason they have you pay your bill in full in advance upon check-in. You may be tempted not to pay at all.
