“I love Steak ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 June 2014 via mobile

To see a steak the size of my plate for a start made my mouth water. It was full of flavor and then so was the homemade chips and taste mash and veg. It was nothing like what I expected when I walked into the place... Judging the book by it's cover was wrong. It was brilliant and the staff were casual and welcoming made for a very relaxing meal! Plus the bill was rather reasonable!!!

“wonderful surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 June 2014

My initial impression was hmmm a bit of a throw back to another era but a local recommended if you wanted value + quality then this restaurant was not to be missed. We received a warm welcome although booking is recommended (4 adults + 2 kids ) and took a seat in the bar to inspect the menu. Again a little worried the menu both Set and A la carte looked fantastic but could they deliver.???
Well i should not have worried, starters FANTASTIC, mains FANTASTIC kids very very happy.
All in all a wonderful experience.
One exception, chef please provide a nice Champ, (i know new potatoes!!!!) .ty.

“Simply the Best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2014

Well, I eat here now on a regular basis and have no complaints. You come here hungry and will Not leave hungry. There is a two course menu for €20 or three course for €25. I assure you that you will only require the 2 course. There is a brilliant selection of starters to choose from and and a brilliant selection of main courses, which include sirloin steak. Now the steaks here are just heavenly and extremely generous in size. Every steak will give the customer the 'wow' factor, and the whiskey sauce is just divine.
Now if you are into seafood, from the al a carte menu, I would 100% recommend the seafood couquille starter or the crab claws. You will be left liking your lips afterwards.
I could just rant and rave about this place but it would be too long for you readers. It's a MUST visit if you are in Bundorn. It's warm and homely but, don't be put off by the decor, the food is just amazing.
The chef Brendan, also likes a challenge from time to time and if you would like something a bit different for a special occasion like a seafood platter or the likes, he is the man. Definitely no starters or deserts will be needed when you get this treat made up for you.
Staff excellent also and I so look forward to visiting this little place at least twice a month now.

“Family meal - great value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

We ate here early in the evening and were surprised how good the value was for the choice of food on the menu. 25 Euro for 3 courses.
I had mussels which were quite nice but the highlight was the lamb fillet main course which was cooked perfectly medium rare and was so tasty. Everyone else enjoyed their meals too.
Yes the decor is a bit dated but this is part of the charm of this restaurant. Lovely meal.

This restaurant has not changed much for decades. Everything from the decor to the cutlery feels like it's the seventies again. If you prefer fashionable dining, go elsewhere.

After a warm welcome we were seated in the cosy bar to peruse the menu beside the roaring fire.

The starters, steak and lamb were very good, and cooked exactly to our wishes, with excellent sauces.
The side dishes, though, were very poor, with overcooked vegetables and mash - truly seventies!

We ate from the set menu; two courses for 20 euros, three for 25. The steak, in particular, was no little eight-ounce thing. Good value for Ireland.

Service was charming and efficient. If you want an old-fashioned meal in Bundoran this is the place.
