“Excellent Sunday Roast with great sea view!”
Reviewed 3 October 2013 via mobile

Enjoyed a wonderful Family Sunday luncheon & couldn't fault one thing! Great location, with stunning views of the beach & sea, a lovely friendly, warm welcome & excellent food. The prawn & smoked salmon salad was huge & utterly delicious & the roast turkey & ham with vegetables was super; again an absolute huge portion, which was very very satisfying! Equally my dining Companions enjoyed vegetable soup & crispy duck leg to start, followed by roast beef which was also delicious. The vegetables were particularly memorable because they were cooked perfectly. We each had apple pie & ice ream to finish which was also very good. Would definitely return & recommend.

We chose the Ocean Sands Hotel as the venue for our wedding in November 2012 as the hotel is set in such beautiful surroundings with splendid views of Enniscrone beach and we loved the relaxed and family friendly atmosphere as we have kids ourselves. We had a civil ceremony in the Hotel and also stayed in one of the Apartments the night before our Wedding. I cannot say enough about the hospitality and professionalism of the staff and management during our stay. Teresa, the Wedding co-ordinator, was extremely helpful and patient with our many questions and requests! The room decor was just right and fitted in with our colours and the atmosphere we had chosen for our wedding perfectly. During our stay they took fantastic care of us and of our guests from beginning to end. Many guests stayed the evening before the wedding also and all raved about the place - the views, the hospitality, the service, the value! What more can we say than that everything went to plan, the ceremony room and the function room was exactly what we had hoped for, we had entertainment in the bar - a local singer (recommended by Teresa) which went down a treat. The meal was beautiful, served swiftly and the staff were plentiful and very obliging. On such an occasion that means so much and takes so long to plan this Hotel really realised the importance of making the day all ours.

I attended a wedding in sept (didn't stay overnight).

The hotel is nicely styled and on the beach. The function room is downstairs and will cater for a reasonably big wedding. The food was excellent. Staff were friendly and there was no fuss when the sing song starts (you Irish will understand what I mean here. All were given access to the sing song :).

Yes a fine establishment right on the sea. I'd recommend it.

I didn't stay there but had an afternoon lunch.
Friendly staff, food was fine. Hotel lobby and bar area looked well kept and modern. Great view of the beach. If I had to stay overnight then I would pick this hotel.

I had booked an apt for 3 nights for the last week in August. Apartments are nothing to the pictures on the website. As soon as I opened the door I was gutted. Apartment didn't feel clean. Mat under coffee table was filthy. Beds were terrible. Could feel the springs coming up through the mattress. Complained after the 1st night and was offered a change of apartment to apt 4 and the guest who were due to arrive to book into apt 4 were going to get apt 3 so wouldn't stand for this. So we got moved to a family room in the hotel which was lovely. The apartments need a total revamp and def need updating.

I attended a wedding here. Having dined here previously in the restaurant, I was very disappointed with the wedding meal. The turkey & ham were so salted I could not taste any flavour. The soup was like a bowl of salt also.I believe the beef option was good, but did not taste it myself. Bar service was extremely slow, even though it wasn't that busy at the function room bar and there were at least 4 staff on. The function room itself is nice, lovely patio area to the rear of the function room.

The pros were the pleasant disposition of staff members, the breakfast was very good and the room we were given was spacious and clean. The service in the resident's bar was good. Proximity to the beautiful Enniscrone beach is great.

I will return, but will hope for function food to be that of the same standard that the restaurant food in this hotel is. On Mother's day there was a glass of champagne given to diners in the restaurant which was a lovely touch, and when dining here for my niece's confirmation the service was excellent, so it was disappointing to be let down by the wedding meal.

Ample, free parking to the rear of the hotel, but could be signposted better.

Teresa & Mark,

Thank you so much for everything in the preparation to our wedding day and the day itself. The wine and food tasting was a great start to the preparation to help us with our decisions on our meal choice. From the word go nothing was an issue and you did everything in your power to make our day more special. The Venue and food was exceptional. Teresa, Mark and Killean were very attentive to all dealings regarding to the wedding and nothing was a problem. So many of our guests complimented the meal and also the venue. The honeymoon suite was fabulous. The function room was decorated to the highest of standards and the views from the hotel were stunning which added to our day. The drinks reception and canapés were gorgeous. We would recommend the hotel to anyone getting married or even just a holiday.

Michelle & Jason

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view room. Sights are fabulous.
