My wife and I spent 3 nights with our 2 boys aged 10 and 3 at the Ocean Sands Hotel. We went for the family package deal which was 3 nights dinner, bed and breakfast. We found this to be great value for money as each night the dinner was a 3 course meal albeit it was a set menu but you had a choice of 3 different starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts. The kids menu was the usual basic choices but covered all bases also. We enjoyed every meal we had although on the 3rd night I asked if I could upgrade to a sirloin steak which was at a premium of 9 euros approx. This was not offered to us by the waiting staff and we had to ask for this. The food was great quality however the kids chicken goujons were not very good quality which surprised us because everything else was.
You could choose to eat in the bar or downstairs in the restaurant and the bar is much more suitable and the waiting staff much more agreeable. We ate in the bar on the Wednesday night and there is no atmosphere and we had to wait 45 minutes between first course and main course!
We were in Room 7 and we had booked for a sea view which was an extra 15 euros a night however the only way we could see the sea was to walk over to the 1 window and stretch to look around the corner of the hotel. This was not worth the extra as we imagined we would be upstairs overlooking the back of the hotel for that price.
The kids club was excellent and the boys both enjoyed it. The supervisor was excellent with the kids and was not overly dominant but at the same time kept them in line and under control. This gave us the added attraction that we could relax and enjoy our dinner knowing they were being looked after each evening and were also having fun!
The hotel is situated on the main street of Eniscrone which has a few wee bars and restaurants and any that we were in with the kids were all very pleasant.
The evening entertainment on the Wednesday night was brilliant however that cannot be said for the Thursday evening!
The hotel staff were more than courteous and as good as any I have encountered in the world and also the room and the cleaning service was spot on.
The hotel is very close to one of the best beaches in the world where you can spend the whole day walking up and down or paddling, or if you get the weather, swimming!
Finally I have to mention the excellent breakfast each morning which was a buffet which had eveything you could want!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on one of the upper floors with a sea view

In late June I went for a 5 day break to Enniscrone, Co Sligo, Ireland. We booked into The Ocean Sands appartments. The rooms were lovely and spacous and extremely tidy. The panoramic over the Atlantic Ocean very from the kitchen/living room up stairs was outstanding.
The staff were very courtious and always had a smile on their face which showed me they loved their job.I would highly recommend this town as there are plenty of restaraunts, cafes, amusements like mini golf for the kids, Pitch n putt and golf. There are beauty parlours, sea baths absolutely anything you want to do it is there. Id highly recommend Jaspers restaraunt in the Ocean Sands Hotel. Top notch food served by great staff.

Room Tip: If there are more than 2 of ye going id pick a 3 bedroomed apartment as the view is unreal. The stai...

I stayed here with my two small kids, the first night my youngest had a high temperature so we said we wud get room service we were told there was no room service for food keep in mind it was 9 o'clock at night. Room service was for alcohol only! Also the playground at the back of the hotel charged 5 euro to get in to a kids playground why don't the ocean sands hotel mention there is a charge for the playground on there website and it has nothing to do with the hotel. I will never stay in this hotel again nor will I recommend it to any other families. The best thing about our holiday was the beautiful beach and the day we left this awful hotel

Have been here in the same apartment since hotel opened. Yet again a warm welcome and the needs of everyone well and truly met, from a 9 year old to my elderly parents this hotel looks after everyone.
Deirdre in pebbles the kids club is an absolute star, this really is a kids friendly hotel in every way.
The only small hitch with a meal on the 1st night was sorted very quickly and everything else was fine
A special mention for Eva and her staff, Sinead in the restaurant and Chris behind the bar, truly wonderful guys, thanks again and look forward to seeing you all next year,

I attended a family christening here over the weekend. It was a very busy sunny summer weekend in enniscrone and it was great to enjoy a family celebration at this hotel! The girls that served our table really stood out as it was obvious that the hotel was really busy. They were extremely pleasant and the service they provided was exceptional! Well done girls!

2nd time in Ocean Sands, 1st in hotel last year, and then in the apartments last week. Location is superb, right on the brilliant beach. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Food is ok, not great. Hotel rooms ok, but not if you have kids. Go for the on site apartments. ...........
Apartments brilliant! Especially for kids, and especially if it rains. They are clean and functional, with balconies overlooking the beach. Noise level are high especially if there is a wedding or function in hotel, or "carnival" under your window, but in central location like this, you can expect that. We will be back.
