“Waited for a table for one hour and a half”
Reviewed 25 August 2013 via mobile

We recently stayed in enniscrone and we were recommended gilroys as being lively for food , we got there at eight o clock four adults and two kids we were told that maximum wait for table forty mins which was ok, we got seated at half nine . Our night was ruined as this is a long wait with hungry kids, we went down three times and were told five minutes every time, the food was not enjoyed as we were so hungry, we would not have eaten here if they had told us the table would be ready at half nine, the food was nice I got goats cheese and walnut salad and not a walnut in sight, I got a burger then cremated and a stale burger bun, the kids got hot dogs and chips bad value hot dogs tiny and the kids were still hungry and the meal for them was 795, the rest liked there food the seafood linguini was enjoyed and the Seabass was nice , our meal was very rushed we sat at half nine and we had our two courses over at ten , we might as well have gone to the take away , a lovely day ruined, we told the staff we were not happy about the wait for the table she just answered that it was a bit annoying, overall a lovely day was ruined by this meal that we were so looking foward to.

“Family friendly, great food & service”
Reviewed 24 August 2013

We had eaten there a year early and found it even better this time around. I think there may be new management and they should be commended for excellent food and service. I booked for a large group of 17 people which was no problem. Both adults and children really enjoyed the food. Excellent restaurant with very friendly and efficient staff. Well done!

“great food great service great atmosphere”
Reviewed 16 August 2013

what a delight as we headed down the short staircase and was met by a big smile and a welcome by the manager and was surprised to see the beautiful décor and layout of the restaurant. I have to say the food was excellent ,the presentation first class and Shona our waiter looked after us all evening. What a delight , there was no pressure to leave our table and probably because of the service and the quality of the food we stayed longer and ate more than normal for us but even the bill was reasonable. We found out in the pub after that they are a new team and are getting it right, well done, will definitely be back on our next visit.

“Great food and atmosphere”
Reviewed 12 August 2013

We ate here in a group of six and none could fault the food or the service. The atmosphere in the restaurant was also great. The wine list would benefit from a greater selection.

A fantastic meal - no booking required. Clearly family friendly too. The food was wonderful, and the staff were attentive. Great Value for money.
