“Best place to eat in town!”

Have eaten in Ait Eile afew times over the summer and it never disappoints. The food is always very tasty and the restaurant offers lovely decor and scenery. It is great that the restaurant takes bookings again but even without a booking Ait Eile is worth the wait. A favourite of mine is the curry but I have dined with others who have had the lamb, steak, fish, burger and all have been impressed. There is a great selection of desserts and cocktails also. Ait Eile has really improved in the last few months. The new management has done a great job. The food and service are top notch!

“Another lives up to it's name and reputation”
Reviewed 25 August 2013

Very classy pub atmosphere upstairs. My wife and I, and 16 year old son and 20 year old daughter had some drinks upstairs on a Saturday evening. It was packed. Very nice crowd of people. We then were beeped for our dinner table downstairs where we all enjoyed a very nice meal. Again, excellent service, very good food and nice atmosphere. Although, it's a little bit of an upscale feel, so if you are looking for a true pub atmosphere, that's not exactly what you will find here. All in all a very nice evening, and excellent fare. We'd definitely head back here on our next trip.

“Wonderful atmosphere”
Reviewed 25 August 2013

We went to Gilroys after our host at the B & B we stayed at (Redriver Lodge in Ballina) recommended it to us. It was crowded when we got there- we had to wait in the upstairs bar where the live music was and we enjoyed some drinks/beers while we people watched. Then we headed down to the dining area and enjoyed some great ambiance and food. Our waitress was phenomenal and the table/decor was perfect. We enjoyed fish cakes and mussels for appetizers that were out of this world and made with salmon (the cakes). Then for our mains we had- sea bass, caesar salad, seafood pasta (omg so good) and a burger. We were so full that we didn't have room for dessert but wish now we did so we could have stayed longer. That place was very young, trendy, and classy. Different from the places we visited but still had the Irish flare upstairs with a bit of elegance downstairs. Definitely will return next time we are in the area.

“Waited for a table for one hour and a half”
Reviewed 25 August 2013 via mobile

We recently stayed in enniscrone and we were recommended gilroys as being lively for food , we got there at eight o clock four adults and two kids we were told that maximum wait for table forty mins which was ok, we got seated at half nine . Our night was ruined as this is a long wait with hungry kids, we went down three times and were told five minutes every time, the food was not enjoyed as we were so hungry, we would not have eaten here if they had told us the table would be ready at half nine, the food was nice I got goats cheese and walnut salad and not a walnut in sight, I got a burger then cremated and a stale burger bun, the kids got hot dogs and chips bad value hot dogs tiny and the kids were still hungry and the meal for them was 795, the rest liked there food the seafood linguini was enjoyed and the Seabass was nice , our meal was very rushed we sat at half nine and we had our two courses over at ten , we might as well have gone to the take away , a lovely day ruined, we told the staff we were not happy about the wait for the table she just answered that it was a bit annoying, overall a lovely day was ruined by this meal that we were so looking foward to.
