Went to Clarkes after reading the trip advisor reviews. It was closed! Tuesday night, no opening hours displayed so not sure what the story is. Shame. I'd loved to have tried it as Boyle is a lovely welcoming town and no doubt Clarkes is the same!

We've dined at Clarke's several times on our trips to the Boyle/Sligo area. The food and service has always been first class. Clarke's has a unique atmosphere and ambiance of a family owned and operated Irish pub. We always look forward to dining at Clarke's !!

After exploring Boyle for the day, we wanted to have dinner before beginning our long drive home. Although it was a Saturday evening, the town was very quiet and few places were open. Having read the positive reviews for Clarke's, we decided to pop in there for a quick bite.

It wasn't busy when we came in so we were seated immediately and given a menu that had a large selection for an upgraded pub-grub type place. We chose the fillet of plaice and soup of the day with brown bread and fresh vegetables. Everything arrived quickly and was nicely presented, although the plaice was a bit small and thin for the price. My leek and potato soup was well seasoned but the bread served with it was cold and chewy. The vegetables were also cooked al dente, which is a nice surprise in a country where vegetables are nearly always overcooked and mushy. Service was friendly and efficient and prices were fair. I would definitely recommend Clarke's to anybody looking for a nice dinner in Boyle.

We came as a last minute booking for 10 people, and they were rather warn and welcoming. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and attentive. We are on a tour around Ireland and this is so far our best culinary experience.
We will be recommending it to friends and family.

Have been many times to Clarke's as it's local to us. Food and service always very good. They are so accommodating particularly for anyone who has allergies and fussy little eaters too ;) if you are looking for an eaterie where portions are generous this is the place for you. I have never gone home hungry. Highly recommend. Their special three course with tea/coffee is brilliant value at €20.
