After a few problems with our Galway rental what a great overnight stay we had at Castle Lodge. Eithne welcomed us on our arrival with a cup of tea, told us a bit about the 'sites of Malahide' and then showed us to our rooms. The rooms and bed linen were spotlessly clean with a TV, coffee/tea-making facilities and en suite shower/bathrooms. Breakfast was equally good. Nothing was too much trouble for Eithne and Gerry and we would have no hesitation in recommending this B&B whenever you need accommodation in this area.

Following some recommendations we stayed in Malahide on our last night in Ireland. Castle B&B was a great choice for lodging and Eithne and Gerry were great hosts. It was typical Ireland weather when we arrived and we wanted to walk the town so extra umbrellas were provided by Eithne. Dinner recommendations were spot on and we also enjoyed Gerry's singing while cooking breakfast. Gerry even gave us a map of back roads to airport which took us only 10 minutes to get to!

After a 23 hr flight from Australia & an easy 15min drive from Dublin airport - Castle Lodge was a great start to our holiday in Ireland.
Gerry & Eithne were perfect hosts - very helpful with advice on places to visit or where to eat. Loved hearing Gerry singing in the mornings whilst cooking our yummy breakfast that kept us going all day.
The shops, pubs & restaurants are only a 10 minute walk away - A visit to Malahide Castle is a must - also only a 5 minute walk.
We stayed 2 nights before setting off down south & 6 days later at the end of our visit to Ireland we stayed another night to be close to the airport for our departure to Southampton - ideal!
Thank you Gerry & Eithne - you are both great people.

From coffee and biscuits on our arrival we were made to feel really welcome at Castle Lodge. Gerry and Eithne are lovely people, friendly and helpful and they run a great B&B, really well.
It is spotlessly clean with lovely white bed linen and the room was serviced even though we'd only been in it for one night, nice touch in a B&B. We had a family room with a double and a single with a small en-suite. It was perfect for our needs and was nicely furnished. There is a communal sitting room if you want to use it and free wi-fi, which worked in the bedroom, no problems.
Breakfast was lovely and cooked fresh to order, endless tea and toast, fruit, cereals and some cold meat and cheese which my daughter loved.
We chose this B&B for it's proximity to our friends' house in Malahide but I would recommend it for any stay in the area. It's convenient for the airport, castle and the town, is comfy and welcoming and we'll definitely return for our next visit.

Spent 3 nights with Gerry at Eithne while on a golf trip to Ireland. Town of Malahide is awesome with a few great pubs and some good grub. Great location. Played golf at Portamarnock and The Island-both are close by.Took the short train ride-30 minutes- into Dublin. 10 minutes to airport.

Gerry and Eithne are the best. We had 4 rooms and everything worked smoothly.
Gerry was extremely helpful with directions and recommendations.Breakfast was great and we smoked cigars on the back deck and drank a few pints.

Place was recommended to me by a friend and we will be back.

It is my practice to read reviews, of places , I intend to stay, on TripAdvisor, particularly those reviews which are rated as poor or terrible. This place had some nasty reviews , specifically, regarding the hosts ; but I think the owners have learnt their lessons as most of the recent reviews are good. You can see that the owners Gerry and Eithne are relishing their ratings on TripAdvisor as the same is advertised on their signboard and the ratings certificate from the site also placed prominently at reception. Although we didn't see much of Gerry, Eithne was there to welcome us . As the B&B was booked up we could get only Twin sharing room but it was clean and serviced regularly every day. Water bottles were replenished on request without extra charge and the Breakfast was served fresh on-order. But it would be better to inform them in advance about your probable time of breakfast in morning so that they are prepared with extra hands if the B&B is full. The location of the B&B is very near to the Malahide Castle and ,as, we stayed for two nights , we used to go for walks around. The walk to the town centre takes about 10 minutes. Malahide has some fantastic eateries and it is an experience to eat in some of the Bistros/restaurants. We stayed in this place before our departure from Ireland as it is near to the Dublin Airport.
