We found Castle lodge at the end of our Ireland holiday and it was a perfect place to stay, close to the airport and within a 10 mins walk to the nice village of Malahide. Very good and spacious room and nice and helpful hosts. I travelled with my grown-up kids and withdraw one point for slow WiFi, maybe unfair, router might need a reboot in between). Next visit to Ireland will start in Castle Lodge, see you Eithne!

We stayed in Castle Lodge for one night. The hosts Gerry and Eithne were very welcoming, friendly and helpful with directions. We spent great couple of hours chatting to them at the "bar" in the garden. The room was big enough, with comfortable bed and an en-suite shower. Breakfast was great and served in good time. Malahide is a pretty village and the castle grounds are just around the corner. All in all, a very pleasant stay made so not only by the facilities but also by the welcoming personalities of the owners.

Room Tip: We had one of the ground floor rooms at the back. Nice size.

Don't stay anywhere else when you are in the Dublin area. Castle Lodge is perfect! Fantastic hospitality, easy walk to the Dart for Dublin City centre and the beautiful town of Malahide with lovely restaurants and pubs. Castle Lodge is so comfortable, homely and amazingly clean, the breakfast is superb and such lovely friendly hosts Gerry and Eithne. Sometimes its the little touches that make a perfect holiday and our hosts couldn't do enough for us. We had two nights with our German Friends and loved the great Craic with our fantastic hosts

We just arrived in Dublin and we went to the countryside by Malahide : luckily, we found Castle Lodge B&B and we stayed the night. We were warmly welcomed, that wonderful couple was also interesting and intersted in our life + trip so we felt a great human contact.
The rooms are well furnished, very nice, very clean and the breakfast was soooooo fantastic ! He sang in the kitchen while they cooked. We appreciated every single moment there : they're nice to share a beer and feel when you need to be let alone (we were sooooo tired). A great point to the free ear plugs ! how gentle ! How did they know I forgot mine and my husband snooooore ?

We went all over Ireland for a whole week and never found a better B&B. Nothing's equals Castle Lodge ! And prices are the same as anywhere else.... We'll go back asap !

Eithne & Gerry are the most welcoming of hoste, nothing is to much trouble.
Gerrys breakfasts are probably the best in Ireland.
All ready planning my return trip, whilst staying there i met a German couple who have visited 35 times, testimony in itself.

If you want the whole experience you cant go past Gerry and Eithna at Castle Lodge in Malahide. We were warmly welcomed with a choice of refreshments before being shown to beautiful clean double rooms with ensuite. Gerry proudly entertained us at his bar challenging us to a game of darts and entertaining us with songs music and the greatest Irish humour. The breakfast was cooked by dancing singing cooks and served with smiles, laughter and more jokes. We were so taken with Castle Lodge and beautiful historical Malahide we returned for more fun at the end of our tour. (May I?)Thank you all for going out of your way to assist us with making fornd memories-Love from the Kiwis, Bill, Wendy, Jeff, Brenda, Mark and Sheree

Room Tip: All rooms are clean and quiet

This was our first stop (3 nights) on a 3 week vacation to Ireland and the UK. Eithne was a wonderful host throughout our stay and sat with us each evening on her patio, over an adult beverage, talking about our daily adventures. The three of us felt like we met a new friend.

We arrived in Dublin at 0800 and by 1000 we were already exploring Malahide. The short distance from the airport and early check in time got us on our way quickly. The two upstairs rooms were comfortable and quiet and breakfast was tasty and cheerfully served. We felt right at home whether on the patio, in our rooms, in the lounge, or in her kitchen.

With the station a short walk away, we traveled to Dublin by train (25 minute ride). Malahide has numerous pubs and eateries, a castle and garden, and a nice coastline for walking or shopping.

Room Tip: There is little air conditioning in Ireland or UK. if temps are forecast to be warm, a small fan wou...
