“Wonderful guide, interesting history!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2014

I visited Malahide castle and thought it was a neat historical site! Most of the objects are hundreds of years old and fascinating to look at. the best part is that they keep the rooms somewhat true to history with the furnishings...instead of just a museum.
Pros; excellent personal guides, excellent history, cool little castle, very informative, absolutely gorgeous landscape, well worth 12 euros.
Cons; you are in a pretty large group and can only go through with a guide, you don't really see much of the castle as they only have about 6 rooms open, they don't talk in detail about the famous ghosts

“Beautiful and a Must See”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2014

We took a tour of the Castle. It is lovely and the tour was informative and interesting. We had lunch at the Avoca Café on the grounds. Food was good with large servings although it is generic cafeteria style.

“Worth the visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 June 2014

This Castle was a great place to visit. The grounds are beautiful and are free to use. There was some kind of family fun day the Sunday we were there. They also allowed dogs on the gounds. The Castle tour gave a lot of history and the restored rooms were beautiful and gave a good idea of the way the people lived. Very informative guide.Enjoyed the tour and will recommend this tour for anyone.

“very good for a sunny day!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2014

Nice place for picnic on a bright sunny day when it is not too windy. The castle is just okay, you can avoid it but the gardens are pretty nice to enjoy the sun.

“Better Outside than In”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

This is a nice place to visit if you have a lot of time in Ireland. It's not the best castle by far, but if you have free time it's an enjoyable day. The inside is quite small, and not worth the entrance fee in my opinion, however the grounds are beautiful, and it's a nice place to spend a morning, and the grounds are free to visit.
