There are few choices for visitors to dine in Ballvourney. We had reservations to spend the night at the Abbey Hotel, and found that it was the logical place to dine as well. Very popular with the locals, it was hard to find a table. A bit expensive, but hearty fare.

Stopped here for some food and wow, don't normally find buffet lunches great but this was the exception, lovely country feel to the place. Decor a little dated and showing some wear around the edges but overall a lovely meal and great value

The food at the Mills is allays a highlight of the stay in Ballyvourney, there is a huge choice!

The signature desert the 'Ballyvourney Bomber' is a unique and fun desert and has become a bit of a ritual when i am in town.

We also landed here around lunchtime. In contrary to previous review, we found the service very warm, friendly and efficient. The food we got was excellent - good, homemade soup and lovely fresh salad sandwiches. The lunch from the carvery that fellow-guests were eating looked good quality too. They had about everything that one could dream up for a lunch when you stop somewhere on the way. First review really baffles me.

We were driving towards Dingle and passed this hotel around lunch-time and decided to stop for lunch. There was a self service area located at the rear of the premises. It was somewhat disorganised and we had to wait for five minutes to obtain any service. The food was mainly carvery items / roasts and some salmon. The food was completely overcooked and dry requiring gravy and totally inedible being very reminiscent of the most poor quality school dinners which I have suffered. It is a crime on food to cook it and present it in such an uncaring low quality manner. Avoid at all costs.
