“Great stay at Park South”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 February 2014

We had a great stay at Park South in December. Eva was so kind and helpful, even ironing our son's shirt for him before we left for a baptism service. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and her apple pie and scones were delicious. We would be happy to stay there again in the future and would recommend Park South to anybody visiting this part of Ireland.

Stayed here and Eva is so welcoming and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble and she is very attentive to needs of guests. She drove us to our wedding location to save us a taxi. Breakfast was a feast and filled me up all day. Beautiful homemade scones, bread, jams and marmalade as well as fantastic fry. It is outside Doneraile not Mallow but that is the quirk of the Irish postal address system rather than any misrepresentation on Eva's part. Would highly recommend to anyone and great value.

Stayed here last weekend. Eva drove us to the wedding reception so that I could have a drink. Room was good and when we returned in the early hours she had the heat on and electric blankets warming our beds. Next morning I had the best breakfast I have ever had in B&B or hotel - home-made scones, jam and brown bread, fresh fruit and great scrambled eggs, mushrooms, bacon and tomato. Definitely would return and recommend everything about it.

We spent 3 nights here, very clean room (and large), bathroom is large as well, wonderful cooked breakfast, you'll feel right at home, Eva is a great hostess. Quiet rural location, I had forgotten how the night sky looks when there are no city lights around.

I have been to Ireland on a number of occasions since the early '70s and I can honestly say that this is the most welcoming & hospitable B&B I have stayed in and that is judged against some fairly formidable opposition.
Eva, the proprietor & hostess, is superb. This is her livelihood and as such fully understands her business & clientele. The business model is based on returning clients and recommendations - to achieve this Eva provides Savoy service at Premier Inn prices! Like a good waiter Eva knows what you need and when you need it. What a treat to enjoy an unscheduled cup of tea with scones and home made jam after a day at the races at Cork racecourse just outside Mallow.
The house & gardens are well maintained and there is ample parking space - you do need a car as there is no bus service. The rooms are spacious & clean with TV, tea-making facilities & a very comfortable bed. The en-suite has been tastefully refurbished and is spotlessly clean. Doneraile village is approximately 5km away and walkable if you are a regular walker and well worth a visit to the gardens.
If you want a base to take in Cork Limerick, Tipperary & Killarney or have just a couple of days break relaxing in the countryside, look no further

This is a beautiful cottage! It has been carefully and lovingly renovated. It has all of the modern ammenities and is beautifully decorated. It is located in the most gorgeous rural setting. There are many interesting and wonderful things to see just within an hour's drive. Eva, the hostess, is so gracious and generous. We are hoping to come back again and again and again. I travel to Ireland usually once, sometimes twice a year and every time I make it a point to stay a few nights at Park South. This last trip I stayed for a total of 6 nights. Eva (the owner) does an absolutely fantastic job of making the place feel like home. From the warm welcome, to the fresh scones and apple tarts, to the fantastic traditional Irish breakfast in the morning. Every room is spotlessly clean and the beds are comfortable and warm. If you are traveling with a group of 3 or more, I would highly recommend booking one of the stand alone cottages/houses. They are lovely and spacious places. Both the B&B and the houses are also incredibly quiet, so regardless when you stay you will get a good solid nights sleep. I highly recommend Park South, and I am already planning my next stay.
