Macliam Lodge has done what many guest houses should do and installed wireless repeaters throughout the building, so the Wi-Fi signal is great! Good location close to town centre, on-site parking and a very friendly and helpful owner (Maeve) made for a great stay.

Stayed here with a group of friends cycling down to Mizen Head in August. Maeve and her family couldn't have been more accommodating. Our bikes were stored under lock and key, our cycling gear was washed and dried, and because we had a schedule to keep Maeve even arranged for dinner for us in a local hotel on both nights we stayed, as well as ordering and delivering a cake to the hotel kitchen for us. Maeve and John are an example of true Irish hospitality at it's best, something that sets them apart and makes this a place worth visiting.

My wife and I and two other couples were attending a wedding in Clonakilty on the 10 of August 2013, we stayed in the Macliam Lodge B&B that night, on arrival we were made very welcome and were shown our rooms . The rooms and everything were spotlessly clean, rooms and bed very comfortable, shower was a delight as it had loads of power, again spotlessly clean. Free WiFi in rooms which is a big plus.
Had a great nights sleep, only woke when our alarm went off in time for breakfast, which was huge and delicious, couldn't eat again till teatime that evening.
Parking area in front of house was great; so could get car off road.
We will definately recommend it to our friends and anyone staying in Clonakilty. We will definately go back there ourselves.

This is a very comfortable B&B within walking distance of Clonakilty. The breakfast was very good. The one drawback I found was the road was noisy in the morning but perhaps by then it was time to be up anyway!

My family and I have just returned from a four day stay at Macliam Lodge. Maeve and John treated us like special guests in their home. A great deal of thought had gone into providing the excact accomodation that suited our needs. The beds were very comfortable and I slept like a log! The breakfast was delicious and the ingredients of a high quality. This saved us needing to buy lunch out and so we only had to buy our evening meal which meant that we could splash out a bit on that! There was parking for several cars - always a plus point. Macliam Lodge was conveniently located for exploring the town of Clonakilty and the surrounding area. Inchydoney beach is right nearby and is beautiful and unspoilt. Our trip to Ireland was everything we hoped it would be and more - a large part of this was due to Maeve and John - a big thank you to you both.
