“Lovely hotel”
Reviewed 4 September 2012

We stayed here recently for a wedding. The hotel is lovely with beautiful views! The staff were all very friendly! The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choices offered. The only negative I have is the price! The hotel is expensive!

A family wedding was being held at this hotel so we stayed for 4 nights to straddle the big day.

The hotel is set a couple of miles outside Clonakilty and sits on a side of a hill over looking the Atlantic. On a good day the view from our room would rival anything Italy Spain or France could offer. Being Ireland you don't bank on the weather but when the sun shines the beach is close by, and there is a golf course situated at the rear of the hotel, with loads of activities in the surrounding areas.

The hotel is great, the decor is decent enough and the room we had slept our family of four very comfortably. The bed was one of the most comfy I have ever slept on, we were able to take in the views first thing every morning, and the breakfast dining room overlooks the sea too.

The food in the hotel is brilliant. A choice for breakfast includes the typical continental style, full Irish, kippers, smoked salmon, eggs any way you would like, toast, coffee, tea, juices....the list goes on.

The hotel isn't the cheapest, but it's not in the millionaire price bracket either, and as for the wedding....our whole family stayed here and not one bad word was uttered...the food the hotel put up for the big day was brilliant, and the staffs service throughout the stay was quality.

Great stay, great staff, great wedding, great food, great views, I think you get the idea!!!!

We stayed in a family room for 3 nights and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The breakfast was amazing - cooked to order and plenty of it. The bar food was just as good and catered well for babies.
I would definately stay again!! The views are great although a little out of town so you have to drive to get any where.

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago for a family wedding. We could not have had a better experience. The room was huge with a sea view we even got to see dolphins playing in the sea which was a wonderful experience. The food was really tasty and reasonably priced. Was not disappointed and even though it is not somewhere I would have originally booked I would definately return.

Room Tip: Get a room on the third floor with seaview. As no one is above you it is very quite and the views a...

We attended a family wedding here on 1st June 2012 and it simply could not have been better. This is a family run hotel about 15 minutes drive from Clonakilty. The owners and staff were so helpful and went out of their way to accommodate each and every requirement of our party. The location, overlooking the Atlantic and the view across Clonakilty Bay to Inchadoney Island, has to be one of the best in Ireland. The food and the service were both of the finest quality. The drinks verandah, with its 'ship shaped' service area is a lovely touch and was ideal for the pre dinner drinks and musical interlude (weather permitted on our day). It's not cheap but you certainly get more than what you pay for at Dunmore House. There is an adjoining 9 hole golf course available to residents but, while its a nice way to pass 2 hours on a fine day, I wouldn't come here for the golf.

Room Tip: While a room with a view over the bay is irresistible, try to avoid being close to the main doorway...
