“Best place to stay in clonakilty!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2014

We stayed at the bayview house for two nights and enjoyed it a lot! We booked the superior double room (no 5), which was very spacy (private sitting area, walk in wardrobe, big king size bed, two TVs). Nice furnitures and very cosy atmosphere. There is a nice view on clonakilty bay from the sitting area.

When entering the room we felt more like being in a 4 star Hotel than in a B&B. Lovely breakfast with a choice of fresh fruit, joghurt and juice and also a variety of freshly prepared meals.

We toured Ireland for two weeks and stayed in many B&Bs, but this was by far the best B&B we' ve stayed in. Very friendly and helpful owners, who provided us with good advice for restaurants and activities.

We can absolutely recommend this place!

Room Tip: Spend a little bit more and choose the superior room (no 5) which is very nice!

We have just returned from 2 nights at the Bay View B&B. We booked it after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor and now we understand why everyone so enjoyed their stays there. It really was superb - from the attention given by Miriam and Noreen, the comfortable rooms to the absolutely delicious breakfasts. We also so liked the fact that it was a 2 min walk into Clonkilty for supper each evening - and what a lovely selection of restaurants and pubs there were.
We will certainly return - it was so well located for visiting Kinsale and the many other places that we went to.

Room Tip: Ask if it is a possible to have an upstairs room with a view

It's been just about a year now (July 2013) since my cousins and I stayed at Bay View for our first ever visit to Clonikity, the town where our grandfather's family came to the states from. Undeniably, our stay there was one of my favorite experiences of our month-long European trip and since we left, I've been dying to return. Noreen and her family were so hospitable and genuinely kind people. They told us all the right places to go, connected us with the people we wanted to meet, and treated us like extended family. The place is gorgeous inside and out. They take incredible care of the grounds and put attention into every detail in each room. You can tell they have a passion for what they do and a selflessness for wanting to make your time there as lovely as it can be.
If you are planning to travel to Ireland at all, Clonikilty is a must on your list. It is a small and charming town filled with tons of rich history, kind people, and beautiful sights. And if you're in need of a place to stay, Noreen will welcome you in at Bay View, the best Bed & Breakfast in Ireland!

This was a lovely B&B. We were greeted with a warm welcome and the owners were really friendly throughout our stay, very attentive and helpful.
The B&B was immaculatly clean, and wonderfully comfortable with beautiful views of the bay from the upstairs lounge area. Great selection for breakfast.
The B&B is situated in a peaceful location just a few minutes walk from the town centre which has some great places to eat.
Being a keen runner I was also able to attend the local parkrun which is only 1.5 k run down the road, a friendly bunch and well organised #DFYB!
This was my first trip to Ireland and I found the region to be beautiful the people really friendly and the food excellent.
Overall I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back to this b&b.

From the moment we arrived at Bay View House we knew we had chosen absolutely the right place to stay.
This bed and breakfast is as close to perfect as you'll find. The room was beautiful, the service flawless and the breakfast exquisite. We loved the attention to detail in the decor and the relaxed ambience created by Noreen, Tony and Miriam who put so much effort into making our stay so enjoyable.
Helpful and informative but not intrusive, Miriam is on hand with suggestions on restaurants and places to visit. And she's got maps and booklets to get you there. Breakfast was something to look forward to and each morning we chose a different dish from the varied menu. Breakfasts were one of the best we have had anywhere, presented with attention to detail.
No wonder it's No.1 on Tripadvisor. We heartily endorse that rating and look forward to a return visit.

Miriam and her mother, Noreen, are wonderful hosts of a very special inn. All aspects of this property place it in a category above a typical bed and breakfast. The rooms (our sons' twin room and our double with a view) are spacious and up to date. Our room had a sitting area with a lovely picture window facing the bay. The bathroom and shower were also spacious with attractive new tile work. There was even a walk-in closet with a desk! We wished we had more time there to enjoy the inviting sun room on the same floor as the bedrooms. The breakfasts were also fresh and delicious! We hope to come back to Clonakilty some day and would definitely stay several days at the The Bay View House.

This delightful family-run B & B is a real gem, set close to the beautiful SW coast and on the edge of the attractive small town of Clonakilty, which has a range of good eating places. There is a lounge/sun room for the use of guests, and the ensuite bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The B & B is run by Noreen and Tony Driscoll and their daughter Miriam, who maintain a colourful small garden, a spotless house, and provide free WIFI - and of course, ample and delicious breakfasts. Above all, the Driscolls take a personal interest in meeting the needs of all their guests and ensure a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Room Tip: All rooms are fine, but those at the back of the house have views of the bay.
