Had lunch here last sunday, we got two steak sandwiches which were pretty good although a little overpriced for pub food. View super. Start efficient. Will go back.

I can really recommend the Carvery lunch at the Trident .The portions are generous & the food is prepared by qualified chefs .If you are short on time or have a busy schedule this is the ideal venue for lunch in Kinsale. Bon Appetit!

We stayed at the Trident for four nights in mid July. We've stayed several times, and are always very well treated. This was no exception, all the staff were lovely, especially Karen, who has worked there for years and exemplifies the great service. Many thanks to all, and we will definitely be back.

well we went to kinsale for my birthday weekend and all was fantastic untill we went to dine at the restaurant in the trident hotel. i was shocked how people can charge these prices for what i would safely call one of the worst meals we have ever had.
so there was four of us i had the monkfish which was so tasteless and dry served with what looked like was bacon left from breakfast, my fiance had the duck which was a half duck straict out of the packet, not even presented nicely or even had any effort put into making it look nice at all, my friend had the breast of chicken with what was suppose to be ratatouille and oh my god that was the biggest shock of all, she may as well of had a greek salad, it was a pile of sliced up cucumber and lumps of tomato scattered about the plate and drizzelled with a herb oil or pesto, she didnt even taste it to verify what it was, and finally my friend had the sirloin which wasnt cooked how he wanted simply because he wasnt asked and when it did come out it was cold and so tough.
i have to say the wine was great and the waitresses were lovely wish i had of got there name so they could of got some recognition, its not there fault the meal was so bad i cant imagine how embarrassed they must of been serving it.
The views from this restaurant are beautiful its just a pity the food didnt match and its not as if they were busy there was one other large table in at the time.

Ate at Pier One restaurant here first night as we were resident. Asked for a glass of sparkling wine whilst choosing food; despite a bar on the premises this appeared to be impossible. Menu boring, nothing wrong with the food, just mediocre. Oysters mangled but OK; main course asked for special without chilli; chilli version delivered but then exchanged without question. Staff pleasant but big hotel atmosphere pervaded. Scenic view dependent on where you sit and whether the local freighter is in the harbour!
