“Great location, but average food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2011

We stopped here while visiting Kinsale and after trying (unsuccessfully, due to the long wait) to eat at Fishy Fishy. The waitress was really nice as she tried to seat us in a very busy weekend day. However, the food was just average - the burgers and salmon were OK, but the cauliflower soup was tasteless. They do make up for that with the location, which is gorgeous.

“Excellent food, fantastic atmosphere, a little gem...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2011

My friends and I have just spent a fabulous weekend in Kinsale. After saving up for months for this trip, one of the highlights was finding a little gem of a cafe for excellent food, fantastic atmosphere and a price range that was just right. The Seaview Cafe on the Pier Road was recommended to us by a couple we met earlier on Saturday so we decided to have lunch there. We were so impressed by the food and the prices we went back on Sunday for lunch. It was just lovely to be able to eat out, enjoy the opera and feel like you were in a top class restaurant. The staff were run off their feet as the cafe was really busy but they still had a smile and made us feel special. We will definitely be back.

“Management so RUDE! Be warned!!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2011

Beautiful location, simple food. Visiting Kinsale for the weekend, great spot. Ate in The Seaview cafe on Saturday..enjoyed it, went back on the Sunday , bought an ice-cream..enjoying the sun, music etc. told by owner that ice-cream was take-away and we were not welcome to occupy the seats as others were waiting for tables...(we were undecided about lunch may have eaten there later). We also advised that 4 of us had lunch there the previous day....was not interested!!!!!The manner in which we were asked to leave was an absolute disgrace, very intimidating, in fact we are both still getting over the shock of how we were spoken to!! There were free chairs inside he could have brought chairs outside and offered them to us without the table..
I have travelled the world and back and have never come accross such agressive behaviour in hospitality...left us reeling...otherwise we had a most enjoyable weekend in Kinsale..however this has left a bitter taste!!!

“Great new eaterie in Kinsale Harbour, Ireland”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2010

We were lucky enough to go into the Seaview Café on it's opening day. They brought round many fresh meats and local cheeses that were fab, to try out. The menu wasn't fully on board as it was opening day party time, so these were tasters. There is very respectable vegetarian menu too. Fish and meats look to be well catered for on the menu too.

But more importantly the outside area is great, right on the harbour, with views. The staff were very good and the owners are committed so you know they are going to treat you right. There is inside dining if the weather is bad but the emphasis is on the outside where the easy atmosphere is good. Well thought out shades for very sunny days too.

They even tell you the history of Kinsale whilst serving up. We will visit again on our next trip.

Good luck to them.
