We loved the Perryville House. It was easy to find as it is the first hotel on the harbor as you enter Kinsale. Parking is directly in front of the hotel. Our room was VERY spacious with a luxurious bath & shower on the 2nd floor overlooking the harbor and town. Other family members stayed on the 3rd floor overlooking the harbor in a 2 room suite with shared bath. Kinsale is a small town and is easily walked from the hotel. I highly recommend taking the path just out the front door that leads to the old fort, a pleasant 1/2 hour stroll along the harbor, passing 2 wonderful pubs with great food & ale. The walking tour with Dave & Barry was very informative. Food at Fishy, Fishy (just across the bay) was good, but over-rated & pricey compared to the great pub fare in & around town. The hosts made us feel at home and the breakfast from local producers was the best in all of Ireland! The kids got a real kick from scooping their own honey from the honeycomb and slathering it on freshly baked scones ... Yum!

I can only speak about the Tea rooms and shop. These are beautifully appointed premises. The decor and ambiance is tasteful and peaceful. Everything from the food, crockery to the service is of a very high standard and quality. This is a lovely experience. Produce is sourced locally, even the vintage flowers are sourced from the local Wednesday market. It is the small touches that you notice, the tiny edible flower on the cake, the sweet pea stem in the tiny test tube. This is for people to ' get away from it all', to 'take time out'. There are no screaming children, no buggies. No loud music.
We were three in our group. We had afternoon tea, coffee and cake(s). Beautiful. Afterward we ventured into the shop, where there are just beautiful items from Ireland and France. Gorgeous gifts.
I have since been back both alone and with other friends and always it has been a lovely, lovely experience.

We had been told "Go there and see for yourself" so many times, but living only an hour away it never seemed to be far enough for a break! However, just coming out of hospital and needing a little pick me up, we took our oportunity to visit Perryville House. What an oasis of excellence! Excellent location in the centre of town and a most beautifully relaxing athmosphere from the minute we arrived. The bedroom was large and with a fantastic view of the harbour, a very comfortable bed and very little noise. Breakfast was just perfect - local fresh food at its best and pleasantly served without being too intrusive. We have stayed in a lot of Country Houses etc. worldwide that would not compare with this, and to think that it was only an hour away all the time! We will be back! My wife discovered the shop and cafe on our way out - but that is another story!

Room Tip: Rooms with a sea view are dearer, but well worth the extra cost

The house is really lovely and the rooms very comfortable. The food is excellent. The afternoon tea is also very good. The reviews of the owner are true, she is efficient but cold I don't get the feeling she enjoys this job much. but it is a lovely inn with everything you need

I spent one night here in early June and am ready to return for a more extended stay. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome. Greg, one of the staff, greeted me at the door, came out to parallel park our car (a challenge for Americans in Ireland), and brought in our luggage. Our room was spacious, clean, and had a great view of the harbor. Breakfast was outstanding. Andrew, the owner, was a good source of advice for restaurants, activities, and itinerary.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the water

Just returned from a stag party to Kinsale. Andrew the proprietor was absolutely brilliant. Helped book the restaurants during our three night stay, organised the Golf and made sure that everyone felt at home. He works tirelessly to make sure your stay is full of happy memories and nothing was too much hassle......not even having to get up at 6am on Sunday morning to cook pre golf brekkie.
The restaurants he organised were faultless. The bedrooms, though hardly used during the three day Guinessfest were spacious and clean with comfy beds. The reception room with the Peat fire was very welcoming as well.
Highly recommend Kinsale and highly recommend Perryville House and if you are a golfer, Old Head has to be on your bucket list.
